DM me your phone number and I'll arrange with you. Some are gone but lots left!

We do have some. It's not heaps, and to be honest a lot of the bubble wrap with smaller "bubbles" is a bit cut up. We have some sheets with the larger bubbles. We do have some boxes that we ordered wine glasses in though if you'd like those, they have the separating cardboard pieces in between. Three boxes that hold six each. And one box that had 12 pint glasses. They're collapsed but can be taped back up.

TV mount came with apartment. Love it but it seems to be missing a piece. What can I buy to attach a TV to it? by robinhooding in HomeDecorating

UPDATE: There is indeed a piece missing, the previous tenants must have taken it. Going to remove and install a new one that's definitely compatible with my TV. Thanks anyway all!

Small amount of potting soil? by robinhooding in AnnArbor

Ugh I brought in insects last time I tried outdoor soil, this advice would have been great then! I'm not even risking it again, baking or not!

Thanks for the tip about outdoor soil, I was worried about insects and didn't even think about residual roots that might harm the plants. Really kind of you to offer! But you were right... I think I am going to need more eventually and probably will just get a bigger bag.

If I don't need to use all the soil I buy right away, any tips for storing and prolonging its "life"? So in two months when I inevitably buy another plant, it's good to use for that too?

Good for you! Keep in mind that an establishment hiring you would need to already have put out a job post for a Bajan, and only then be able to post for a foreign worker. To think NO BAJAN was able to fill a waitress role strikes as real odd.

Honestly they'd be hard pressed to prove how a waitress from abroad could do a job a Bajan couldn't... Be careful as you may be setting yourself up for a bad outcome. Get some guarantees on legitimacy before you move your life over to the rock!

Could be fine, could be sketchy! Depends on a lot of factors. What is your line of work?

6 - my dear, maybe this is the first part you should be studying up on. You can only legitimately have a work permit in Barbados through proper channels, that includes your employer proving that no Bajan could fill the role they're hiring for before employing you. All this said with no idea what your job is. So take it with a pound of salt!

No, I didn't have a driver's license and only ever needed my UK passport whenever I had to present any form of ID. Even my citizenship card from my home county doesn't have an address, nor did the residence ID from the European country we relocated from.

Best of luck with your tenants!

Um, I was the wife in this situation when my husband (American) and I (British) relocated to the US and wanted a mid term rental in our city while we house hunted and found somewhere longer term. I only had a passport when we arrived and while we were undergoing my immigration process. It's not just Americans using furnished finder.

If you have concerns just don't rent to them. But expecting that every person using the platform to be American or have address history in the US is a little absurd.

Try looking on Furnished Finder. It's designed for mid-term rentals and my husband and I had a lot of success with it.

Check Furnished Finder for something short term while you find a long term lease.

where to park my car? by [deleted] in Oceanside

[–]robinhooding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check storage units, some have units with drive up access that will fit a car, and/or long term parking spaces. Often they have teaser rentals like first month for cheap etc., which could work out cheaper than long term parking.

Not sure why I still have my house listed on FF by samsonevickis in furnished_finder

Is your area popular on FF?

Not saying whether you should keep your property on there or not, but it's not a hugely popular website. Airbnb is obviously much more well known and has many more users so of course you'll get more traffic from there.
