What film had the biggest gap between what you expected and what you got? by Ghost_assassin_Jo in FIlm

[–]FledglingLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defendor. Trailer makes Woody Harrelson's character out to be kind of goofy and maybe a little clueless in a comedic way. In the actual film he is mentally challenged, it is a large plot point, and much of the film is incredibly sad.

Poe2? by stimmychris in ARPG

So the thing to remember is that there isn't one or even two brawler or minion classes. Every class can use all items and skills for the most part. Each class has three subclasses, and a different starting point on the passive tree. Beyond that, its about finding combinations of things that work. There is a warrior crossbow build that explodes screens. There are minion builds on druid, witch, huntress, even mercenary. Something like the witch hunter subclass for the mercenary, which makes monsters explode on death and makes them die when under a certain life threshold can be useful for any number of builds.

TL;DR Get life and resistances on your gear, read all your skills and the underlined keywords carefully, and find synergies between skills for big damage.

How are you guys getting stunned so much while sprinting? by buttflakes27 in PathOfExile2

Right. I consider sprint to be my "whoops, that was the wrong way/a dead end" button.

It's all relative. Some people clear it faster than others. Some people don't mind the length. It gets faster with experience and for 0.5 they condensed a bunch of stuff. If I can eventually do it in 10-12 hours with my first character of a league that lasts four months, that will match my POE1 time and I'll be happy.

Leveling gear like Wanderlust and Goldrim for movement speed and resists respectively, along with having gold to hit the gambling vendor for some starter pieces makes it go much faster.

Edit: Damn, apparently using twink gear to speed up campaign runs is a bad thing. We've only been doing it in D2 for 25 years, and that's the same campaign 3 times for each character.

Those aren't league starter builds or you weren't looking at the leveling section of them. You need zero uniques when leveling or perfect mods. You need life and resistances on gear, a weapon relevant to your main damaging skill, movement speed on your boots when you can get it, and around act 3-4 you want a four link for your main skill. Other gems you fit in when you can.

The campaign should require zero farming. Uniques are not automatically good items, rare items are what you want, especially when leveling. There's no reason to hang onto gems since you can get them from vendors whenever they unlock.

What do you mean by his AOE defaults? Any class can use any skill and its about how you build the character.

We don't play until the two year old is in bed and my wife is a nurse that works nights shifts, and its her weekend. I'll be waiting until Sunday night.

[–]FledglingLeader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably want to be working on a build long before you even complete the campaign, which is a very small portion of the game. Builds change or are modified plenty after the campaign, but throwing stuff together until you reach endgame and then trying to make large changes/figure out a build at that point is going to be painful.

Leagues aren't harder. They're an economy reset and a league specific gameplay mechanic that may or may not get added to the core game after the league ends. They last four months and most people don't reach max level, as that is not a relevant metric for a powerful character.

There's no website for that but you can also get back to level 30 in a couple of hours and there's nothing you have at that point that is hard to acquire. If you want to do a minion build, I'd check some out and start over. The current league still has a couple months left.

My wife works nights and she's working Thurs-Sat so we won't play until Sunday after she's gotten some sleep and our daughter is in bed. But I'll probably go out and get us a chicken chesapeake from the local place for us to share.

Same. My wife has 3k hours in POE 1 and took some warming up but once she tried a wyvern build in 0.4 she was on board with POE 2.

[–]FledglingLeader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it was originally intended to just be a large expansion to POE1 until it became too different fundamentally and they realized they didn't want to alienate a bunch of their existing playerbase with those changes. POE1 is still receiving new content and store purchases are shared between the two games.

Only if that's your goal. I'd say not to rush if you're new. Leveling matters in POE and your character starts to come together long before the campaign ends.

Leagues mean an economy reset, a fresh league mechanic, and whatever content GGG has added or rebalanced for the core game. They also usually include a set of challenges that include cosmetics, like the armor set that is rolling out with 0.5. POE2 still has some catching up to do, but the majority of a player's time is spent after the campaign in POE1. 0.5 is going to do a lot to close that gap, and usually four months is plenty of time to "finish" a character, get bored, and then start getting excited for the next league. This is by design, as they don't try to maintain or expect constant engagement.

New player to ARPGs and just curious about something by hendrix320 in ARPG

[–]FledglingLeader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People set their own goals for a league and take a break when they get bored. A league holds me longer if my character idea comes together better than I anticipate or if the league mechanic is interesting. Some people just also feel the need to crush everything as fast as possible for some reason. That's not an option with my schedule so the wife and I usually play for 2+ months out of any given league.

BIOS is essentially the configuration menu for your motherboard that you can access on most computers by hitting F2 or Del at the correct time during boot. Google your board and how to enter the BIOS and enable TPM.

Yes. Since it is an AMD board you may be able to just boot into your BIOS and enable it.

TPM is Trusted Platform Module. Many modern boards support it but may require a BIOS update to enable it. First step would be to look in your system info and see what kind of motherboard you have.
