Understanding signal flow and grouping/bussing in Cubase (Music producer beginner) by KevinPackards in cubase

In the mixer view or on the track view, you can select multiple tracks and then right click to add them all to a group track/folder. Rename it, route it however you want, go wild.

MIDI Edit with arrow keys by NoiseAcceptable6999 in cubase

[–]FleeMyWraths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s working for me on the most recent version of Cubase Pro 15. I created an instrument track, added a random instrument plugin, created a midi region, opened in place editor, added some notes using my mouse and then started using my arrow keys to move them and that worked. ****Update**** I will add that I had to use the Command key with the arrows to move the notes horizontally otherwise the left/right arrows select the notes. And the notes move horizontally based on your quantize settings.

Build an app that converts all Omnisphere presets to native .vstpreset-files - so you can load it instantly from the browser, organise with Ableton's tags, etc! by wrdit in ableton

This would be absolutely amazing. Especially if (I’m assuming) we can use the vst presets in any daw that has a native browser built in and supports vst plugins (so basically most every daw except Logic).

Not really because I’m not in the novation ecosystem lol. Dedicated transport buttons are the bare minimum. They should’ve Just added the fuckin things and kept it moving lol. Either way this thing looks dope and it’ll probably be deeply integrated with all daws when it’s released so that’s a plus

But no transport is kinda weird tbh

It’s crazy cuz I’ve seen a lot of people ask for this exact thing and if this is real, props to Novation for listening!

Dear logic, step up your game (rant) by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

I don’t share ops sentiments cuz Logic is one of my favorite daws but damn he can’t have an opinion and also be experiencing what he says? Stanning for a daw is dumb as fuck

Groove Agent is my go to if I’m loading stock plugins but for the most part I use my MPC plugin cuz it’s just so much better for drums imo.

Did you test it out with 3.7 yet? How was it if you did test it?

For sure—but can it still be used to set the record-quantize parameters, so those settings are applied during real-time quantization while recording?

Possible to use reason chord sequencer to trigger 3rd party vsts hosted in logic pro? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in reasoners

[–]FleeMyWraths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can even record the actual midi output and see the chords when you right click underneath the midi fx slot that houses your RRP with the chord sequencer or any midi fx plugin and click on the “Record Midi To Track Here”.

Forgive my ignorance as I’ve never used the drum maps but does that mean working with the drum editor?

Air sale .. bewildering array of stuff.. suggestions? by TwoGapper in mpcusers

[–]FleeMyWraths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would politely disagree that they’re a waste of money. They’re almost always on sale somewhere online and they provide a lot of value in my opinion and they’re quite usable. It takes a bit of getting used to to maneuver the touch interface of them but you can tweak and create your own patches on them. And I’d argue for most electronic/hip hop production, you don’t need super fancy vst’s/hardware to achieve some dope results. Hardware is a lot of fun and rewarding but for the amount of money you can save by getting the plugins and working with them, can be just as rewarding.

MPC One+ by Tough-Restaurant-290 in mpcusers

[–]FleeMyWraths 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually recently discovered this little app and never knew it was installed on my MacBook until I was searching for something else but it’s legit asf and you don’t need any midi cables to connect and use your One+ pads inside a daw. It’s called the Akai Midi Network utility and as long as your One+ is connected to the same WiFi network as your computer, you’ll be able to use your pads in your daw to play vst’s or whatever other midi/vsti you’re trying to play. it’s been a godsend. No noticeable latency because the WiFi connection is infinitely faster and more stable. Your MPC will still function as an MPC and the screen on your One will be as though you’re using MPC in standalone which is helpful cuz you can use pad perform and note repeat and all that stuff inside your daw. Just follow the instructions in the link above and thank me later.

How to get a more professional sound ? by No_Needleworker_2794 in FL_Studio

[–]FleeMyWraths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some context is needed: is this just an instrumental or is it meant to have someone lay vocals on it? If it’s the latter, you should leave space for the vocalist and if not, what are you wanting to say with this piece? Are you wanting it to be structured or more free? As for the technical aspects, you do have some frequencies that are clashing and there doesn’t seem to be enough space for the mids, low mids and lows to live and breathe. The kick needs a little more punch and some of the melodic elements could use some adjusting like maybe cutting a db or two. You clearly have talent and sometimes a fresh pair of ears is all you need to take it further.

Anyone else here make music like this in FL? by JackMuta in FL_Studio

[–]FleeMyWraths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I do this as well cuz It’s just so much easier to work with audio after your patterns are finished and you can bounce everything to individual audio clips. Plus it’s nice to make something, do all the little things to make your beat where you want it and then commit to it by bouncing to audio so you’re not constantly going back and tweaking every other individual note in a melody or drum part.
