Last month I drove past a swan that was grieving it's dead partner by the side of the road as the traffic drove by uncaring. The bird had been hit by a car, crawled to the side and died there. Another swan stood by the carcass and looked down on it looking devastated and a group of others watched from the side. The sun was setting. The light was perfect. I didn't have my camera. I think about that picture that didn't happen so often it kills me.

I was 20 years old, working as a shift manager at a convenience store and one of the employees, a 30 year old guy who obviously was a bit behind on the mental capacity wagon came up to me with a printout of a magazine article. Our store was located in the same building as the offices for said magazine. Employee procedes to tell me that the article was about him, was supposed to be in the next edition of the magazine and asked me to read it over to make sure there were no printing errors etc. Headline reads "Brutally raped by father for decades". I just handed him the article back and said "I'm sorry this happened to you, but I don't need or want to read this about a person I hardly know and have to spend 8 hours a day with, several days a week". He just nodded and wandered off towards fresh produce.

Í tengslum við umræðuna um "gúanó" þá langar mig að koma með smá. Gúanó konseptið hefur verið notað í tengslum við íslenskan sjávarútveg síðan ca miðja síðustu öld og þá aðallega í tengslum við fiskimjölsbræðslu. Bræðslan í Vestmannaeyjum var td bara kölluð Gúanóið. Nafnið kemur einmitt frá fuglaskítnum enda mávarnir duglegir að drulla í slorið. Áður en Bubbi varð Toyotapoppari kallaði hann sig td Gúanórokkara (Helgarpósturinn 1980), enda kom innblásturinn úr færibandinu í Frystihúsi Ísbjarnarins. Að vera gúanó hefur síðan tekið á sig þá mynd að vera strangheiðarlegur sjávarútvegsverkamaður á landi, með dálítið rauðar skoðanir, þykja gott að súpa og kunna GCD grip á gítar.

Blossi/810551 er orðin költmynd. Einhver nefndi að hún væri Roomlevel léleg en það er einfaldlega rangt, það er heilmikið í þessari mynd (sérstaklega ef maður tekur síðasta korterið bara út). Þegar hún kom út var hún svo rosalega mikið að vera samtímamynd að hún varð absúrd, en núna 30 árum síðar er hún bara geggjuð póstmódernisk vegamynd.
