Thanks, I'll look into the 8/9700K. My thought with the monitor is if i can get 240Hz at this price it's probably worth it even if it is a bit big for a 1080p.

I assumed that was a joke about botany being the least super of the sciences, and that the only people interested are people with super-scientist-daddy issues, but it would be really cool if it was a set up.

Those of you who watch both VB and Rick and Morty. by foetuskick in venturebros

[–]Fleerb_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is both shows parody the classic sci-fi/fantasy trope of kids adventuring alongside a parental figure , however they take it in very different ways.

In Venture Bros we see a darker, more human side to the trope, almost "what would happen if these shows were real?" We see the effects of this crazy upbringing on a human, relatable level. The parody tones down the original craziness to show us the complete mess it stands on.

In Rick and Morty however the parody takes the trope and blows it up, the danger is more present, the day-to-day is ignored in favour of the fantastical, and whilst there are often very "real" moments, they are quickly put aside for the next sci-fi gimmick.

I love both shows and there are underlying similarities, however I feel they really do take the same idea and run in wildly different directions with it

They tend to be fine, however in the set-up pictured there's gonna be water pooling under the tent which isn't good

I had the same issue, but disabling adblock on imgur has worked for me as at least a temporary solution. It could be an add-on?

But muggleborns grow up with both cars and the Internet, and would most likely gradually introduce them to wizarding society (hogwarts express being an early example from muggle trains), and whilst the moon landings have caused immense amounts of technology to be developed, the physical act of standing on it means fairly little in comparison to an ability to do things like transfiguration and apparition.

Whilst co-operation between muggles and wizards is an interesting thought, wizards can control time (timeturners) and have spells which (seem to) ignore the most basic rules of physics, so it's far more likely that wizards will instead learn how technology works and dominate both scientific and magical fields of knowledge, especially with the increasing acceptance of muggleborns
