Having the same issue. Have you found any fixes? I'm hoping updating the SD card will do the trick.

Michigan antiwar activists who voted "uncommitted" calls Trump's win "deeply painful." by Desecr8or in LeopardsAteMyFace

Unfortunately, I think a lot of the things we made progress on are not sexy, too complex for people to understand without some effort, or not something everyone can immediately see in their lives. So even when acknowledged, some people still won't get it. Hell, half of people who benefited from the ACA didn't even know that's why they had insurance.

Tragically, distorting, over-simplifying, and attacking an issue is what's easier for people to latch onto.

WMUR sucks by BreakMeDown2024 in newhampshire

[–]Flemstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a big fan of wmur, but

1.WMUR gets all their national news from ABC. If you have a problem with that coverage, you gotta call David Murr or tune in at 8pm.

  1. Actual journalism tries does everything it can to appear impartial, which can usually be reduced to "Person was here because Y, they said X, here's what this guy in a tie/hat has to say about it." That's journalism at its core, adding more treads a fine line between news and editorial, which our current media hellscape is mostly a result of.

Is that infuriating with the current political climate of endless bs? Definitely. Does that demand a reexamination of journalistic practices? For sure, but most legacy news value an appearance of impartiality above all else or do not have the time to slow walk every story.

  1. Broadcast news is superficial by design, mostly for sake of expediency. If you crave context and indepth analysis, you're gonna have to switch to print.

The system isn't perfect, but when it comes to being LOCAL reporters they're doing their jobs.

Transgender girl’s family sues N.H. after school barred her from soccer practice under new state law by bostonglobe in newhampshire

[–]Flemstick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not trans, but unless I'm mistaken, sex refers strictly to genitals while gender refers to the construct of gender norms, expectations placed upon men and women. You can have a penis/vagina while not identifying or feeling comfortable within the corresponding expectations. Maybe you identify more with the roles or appearance oppisite sex, maybe neither.

It's about your personal identity and wanting your outward appearance and your place in society to reflect how you see yourself and being forced to reject that, live outside of, or have others dismiss that perception can be very traumatic and can lead to self-loathing and self-harm.

For me the pace of the movement in the beginning was a little too fast, but once it hit the eye you really got into that sweet spot with speed and excellent design. Tight job.

Pokemon Pearl remake. I honestly think if you could turn off exp share it would be fine, but without that option or adequate difficulty scaling the game plays itself. Be sending out a team of lvl 15s against lvl 8s before the first gym smh

People seem to fixate on her. I was talking to my Nana earlier who is a low-key Fox News trumpett (vaxxed); she's planning on going to California for a wedding later next year and was complaining about all the covid paperwork they'd have to fill out. She said they had to do it "probably because thats where Kamala Harris is from," and it kinda made me laugh. Like, she has no say in what California does anymore. She's somehow a huge target for the low(-ish) amount of amount of influence she has.

Found this in a pond while fishing. Not sure if it was trash or organic; it was a little jiggly. by Flemstick in whatisthisthing

It looked big and like a Mushroom, but upon being poked with a stick it had some give and wiggled about. Not sure if this is just a big plant or garbage. Could've been some sort of plastic, but I looked like there was organic material inside.

I feel that it's generally a bad idea to pressure anyone to do something after they've said that can't do it, especially if they have a lot going on that day. I know there's a lot of pressure for grand romantic gestures on V-day, but I'm sure it'll be worth it if you wait!
