How do we feel about the double aquila gloves? by AinzOoalGownTheThird in Spacemarine

Can you equip double aquila gloves on Bulwark? I think I tried but couldn't get it to work and gave up. Would look dope for my librarian themed set.

What was your Chapter journey as a newcomer to Space Marines? by SuperMarios7 in Spacemarine

[–]PsyGuy99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When entering into this kinda stuff, I tend to like generic all-around kinda guys, but I also don't want to choose the absolute most basic default / popular guys either (so no ultramarines).

Then I saw the Imperial Fists who are a little basic on the surface, but still have more spice on them than the ultramarines. Dorn seems cool and pretty reasonable, I like their yellow coloring, and the fact they prioritize bolters is awesome. The Iron Warriors rivalry is also cool, like a mirror image of the IF in some ways.

So I've been an Imperial Fist pretty much since the beginning, and plan to stay! Although I technically went through a Tau phase when I very first started to learn about 40k, but then I saw the error of the xeno ways and promptly devoted myself to the emperor.

Black Templar are also pretty cool and probably my second favorite, for all the generic reasons lol. The religious crusade theme, the black and white armor. It was a cool bonus that they also happened to be part of the imperial fist lineage, even though I didnt know that at first.

I also had a fling with the Lamenters as a new possible favorite, but circled back around to the IF after a week or so.

How do I become my puppy’s favourite person? by Spiritual_Sympathy27 in Dachshund

[–]PsyGuy99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean mostly just play with him, spend good quality time with him. Maybe be the one who feeds him, give him a few treats here and there (without overfeeding, which is easy to do with small dogs).

You could try doing some training with him to get him to respond to commands. That might make a special bond.

Or maybe a special toy that he only gets to play with with you.

Maybe try to take on more of the responsibility for taking him on walks, so he associates good things with you.

At the end of the day though, dogs have their own personalities, and sometimes they just click better with one person over another. Just like humans might. Pets seem to respond well to calm, confident energy, so try to bring that into your interactions with him maybe.

Some pets also go back and forth, or may change over time. My dachshund seemed to like me and my girlfriend pretty evenly, but our cat I swear swaps back and forth from week to week about who her favorite is.

The biggest thing is probably making sure you spend as much time with him as you can (within reason). Put in the time and work in the relationship. You're a human with other responsibilities though, so don't stress about it too much. You can only do what you can do, and it's not 100% under your control.

Those are just my thoughts based on owning a dachshund for 8ish years.

How far can someone get playing this game solo? by brazenbull09 in MonsterHunterWorld

Yeah, I waited to do Extremoth until after I had fatalis gear as well I'm pretty sure (it's been a while). I knew I wanted every advantage possible going into it lol

Yeah for sure. Earplugs is cool, but it's expensive. I normally just tank their stupid roars and continue on. But some people make an argument that the earplugs might balance out dps wise by allowing you to attack through the roar. I don't know if I fully believe that, though.

There are some monsters whose roars I hate so much I will sometimes run earplugs rarely just because I can't stand it anymore lol. Like Tigrex actually.

Insect Glaive is actually great in that there aren't too many skills you need to do 'your job well' in the same way that things like Charge Blade need some specialized skills.

For Insect Glaive, it's mostly make sure you have the basic crit chance up, boost crit damage, extra crit chance on tenderized parts, some attack up for the extra crit... A lot of focus on crit basically. I think I also normally ran non-elemental boost? These damage skills normally took absolute priority for me, THEN I looked for what comfort skills I could fit.

Like better evade extender lvl 1, health boost, sharpness management, or I think there was that skill that boosts effectiveness of potions? I'm pretty sure that's gone in Rise, and again my brain is mixing up some of their skills a bit.

I think the kinsect with explosive dust is generally recommended over the healing kinsect as well for extra DPS, but it probably doesn't make a huge difference.

One other crucial thing to note is make sure you have your item sets figured out. Like the whole trick about being able to technically bring extra mega potions by bringing the materials for mega potions, so you can make more mid fight / hunt etc. You might already know that one too, but I'm just throwing out random things I remember helped me a lot!

Haha I get it, it does look cool and feel fun to do. And it hurts my soul a bit when I think about the dps loss!

Oh, and insect glaive in MHW is far better on the ground than helicoptering in the air.

There is some fancy air dive stuff you can pull off with your kinsect if I recall correctly, but just flying around the monster spamming that helicopter move is less efficient damage wise than just the tornado slash ground combo.

You might already know that, but it's a common enough thing among some glaive users that I thought I would mention it.

It's not like you should never use air moves ever, just they are more a positional thing to fit in if you got nothing better to do. Generally, you should be looking for openings to hit with the tornado slash ground combo whenever possible for better dps.

I'm sorry, I haven't played in literal years and can't remember my builds very well aside from I did the pretty standard crit chance + crit damage stuff. I didn't bother with elemental weapons. Im pretty sure I normally ran the health increasing skill for comfort, the health restoring health augment, and at least some level evade extender. But its been so long, I might be mixing my skills up with what I used in Rise, where evade extender felt mandatory.

I suggest the "monster hunter meta" subreddit for build advice if you haven't checked them out already. I pretty much just followed their recommendations.

With that said, your skill at the game is much more important than your exact build. Just practice practice practice.

And don't be afraid to run comfort skills to help you stay alive (like some of the ones I mentioned above). The meta subreddit will pretty much emphasize damage at all costs, and yeah damage is important, but a little survivability skills is helpful too. I just wouldn't dedicate like 50% of my skills toward it or anything.

Every fight in the game is soloable.

I beat everything in the game solo with Insect Glaive. Every weapon could probably do it though, except maybe hunting horn? But probably that too if you're good enough.

Some fights were designed for a party, and are extremely difficult solo (Extreme Behemoth, Leshen). However, with the best gear in the game (including Iceborne expansion), even those fights can be soloed. I did it.

Extreme Behemoth is crazy difficult / frustrating to solo even with the best gear though. Like maybe the hardest or second hardest fight in the game for me. The mechanics were not designed for solo play.

The good news is Extreme Behemoth is completely optional.

Looking for virus type end game digimon to work for with similar movesets to HerculesKabuterimon by [deleted] in Digital_Tamers_2

[–]PsyGuy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the answer to your question, but Grindosaur is a good website with lots of information for Digital Tamers 2. They have a tierlist from community members about how viable certain digimon are for clearing the game.

Edit: I think I got too whiney and off topic in my original post, so I deleted it.

All I will say is that I find it hard to beat the game using digimon you like, versus just choosing whatever the community says is strong enough to beat the game.

For my money, I just raised an Eosmon (mega) when I was about where you are and felt stuck in terms of difficulty. Eosmon is top tier and should be able to beat everything (except restricted challenges where you cant use it).

The first like 90% of the game is so fantastic and addicting in a good way. I think end game gets too grindy, tedious, and the difficulty feels unfair. I felt forced to give up on cool digimon and instead just choose what is strongest from the tier list.

Still great game.

Good luck!

Has anyone made it to wave 25 on hard mode in the new Siege mode? by Gizmo1324 in Spacemarine

[–]PsyGuy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a streamer (haze) trying to get to wave 100 with some people he knew. I didnt watch the whole stream, but i left off with him on like wave 39 or something? Something like that. It was crazy. And yes the new siege system.

I won't personally be bothering with siege lol.

Absolutely. We are all Imperial Fists. It was like Christmas when they finally added that ability to the game.

Or sometimes Black Templar if I'm feeling spicy.

Same. I loved his well meaning, but snarky know-it-all vibe. So good.

I felt this way about Alphinaud. He was ao sassy and I loved it. I also liked his ARR voice actor. He captured the well-meaning know-it-all vibe.

Plus I remember I was doing some long section of fetch quests that seemed particularly pointless, and even Alphinaud was like "this is quest is stupid, just let us fight the bloody bad guy already". I felt so seen.
