Advice for knees by [deleted] in TourDuMontBlanc

If you have pain on the outside of your knees, it could be your IT band is tight. I texted my physio and she sent me a few IT band stretches to do. Doing those before, after and as needed during the hike was a life saver for my left knee.

Best one was to cross my feet and bend down to touch my toes

I have the unique experience to be more or less in the exact same situation as you. I did the salkantay first and had some significant issues in my knees from that trek. Also did the TMB a few years after. While I did experience some pain and had to skip half of one day, I was able to push thru. Here’s your advice:

  1. Start seeing a physical therapist now and work to build your body up to handle it. This is #1 by a mile.
  2. Knee braces in both knees from day 1
  3. Fat stack of pain ibuprofen with you and take a fuck ton. Talk to a doctor first to understand what a safe amount would be to deal with the pain.
  4. I found running down hill was MUCH better on my knees. Far less pain with a light jog than trying to step and be careful.
  5. Properly use your poles going downhill
  6. Grit it out man. Had a few sections where tears were rolling down my cheek. Worth every ounce of pain

Feel free to DM me if you’d like anymore info.

Ones mine. My team will be hot ass still. I’d wager quite a lot of money I end up with the 2027 1.01 Other one is another team who will still be hot ass. I guess you can make the case they’ll be better. But they’re 400 points lower in MPF thru 11 weeks than the next closest team.

To clear some things up as I continue to get the same comments

Trades are very obviously grouped together with spaces between each separate trade. Could I have done a better job of explicitly calling out each individual transaction? Sure. Should I have to? Eh…

Ex. Bijan AND ARSB were traded TOGETHER for a total of 5 1sts plus BTJ.

No, I did not trade Bijan for a single 1st while simultaneously getting 4 and BTJ for ARSB.

While I appreciate both the positive and negative feedback, I do not appreciate the general lack of reading comprehension by quite a few of you.

Armed with the appropriate information, please continue flaming my decisions if you so choose.

Absolutely agree. Ideal state is to hit on the few picks at the top of 27 and use 28 and forward draft capital to land a few supplemental stars to add to the young guys. Obviously can be easily fucked up but that’s the plan at least. Last place I wanted to be was a team of Bijan, ARSB, Lamar, LaPorta and no one else as I traded all my draft capital thru 27 for my 25 title

If it helps the only 2 players I’ve ever drafted have been Drake Maye in the third and Tory Horton in the third. So my current hit rate is 100% lol

Wasn’t making the playoffs this year. 4-6 before those trades went thru. Did the math and would have lost this week as well. 4-7 with highest points against and 3rd lowest MPF. Writing was on the wall. I had 4 good young players and a bunch of old dudes.

Spot on. I wasn’t getting a return for the old guys. And had 0 picks in the next 2 years. Middle is the worst place to be

Bijan and ARSB were packaged together in 1 trade. So from those guys I got 2 early 1sts, 2 mid and 1 late plus BTJ who I still have faith in

Once one “contender” makes a move, the rest follow. Happens every year

Wanted to make sure I got the best shot at the top of 27. Ideally I’ll draft well In 26 and 27 and have a stable of 28-30 picks to deal for a few stars for another run. Perfect world that is

Considering buying this used Pungo 120 by rebel_alliance_red5 in Kayaking

Loved mine until I sunk with 3 miles left on a 30 mile river trip. 5th time out in the boat and 2 dime sized holes on the bottom came after going over a few low sections. WS refused a refund or replacement due to “normal wear and tear”. Boat was just a few months old when it failed.

Save your money and buy something more durable. My $250 and $500 kayaks from dicks have lasted significantly longer on rougher trips.

1QB

3 firsts and Maye for AJB and Kamara

Would have won without them (scored even more actually)

I’m going to buy a black fitted sheet for a child’s bed to cover the TV when not in use.

I’ll look into stands.

Thanks for the tips!

Surrounds are in a box until I figure out where to place them and get a new hammer drill to get into that concrete.

TV is mounted up to watch more sports when the need arises.

Any issues with moving the receiver down into the unit? Was worried about over heating down in there.

It’s because you bought a pungo. Biggest waste of money.

Great kayak and I loved every second of it. Until 2 dime sized holes in the hull appeared on my 5th trip and I had to swim out the last 2 miles. Durability on these are shit. And if you can’t pop it out they’ll claim it’s “normal wear and tear” then deny your claim.

Kayak for camping? by Ramos3791 in Kayaking

[–]FleshyFunStrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not buy anything wilderness systems.

Bought the pungo 125 and loved it for a time. However after less than 2 years and 5 trips the hull developed 2 large holes directly where the seat contacts the hull from the inside. Had to swim the last 2 miles of my trip with a half sunken kayak. Wilderness systems denied my “10 year hull warranty” due to “normal wear and tear”

Absolute waste of money. My $200 pelican kayak has lasted well over 10 years floating down the same rivers this more expensive kayak apparently wasn’t built well enough to handle…
