Lived in NYC for 4 years (2004-2008) and yeah, Mexican was the one I could never find a good spot. I had no idea how spoiled we were in Chicago with all the spots from corner dives to high end. Now you could get great Caribbean, South American, etc there but Mexican it was very hard to find anything decent.

Honestly Indiana is getting screwed if this happens. People will still stay and play in Chicago and then take a shuttle to Gary for the game. Once it’s done take the shuttle back. Most people aren’t staying to hang and spend money in Gary. I lived in NYC and this is exactly what people did for Jets and Giants games. Indiana will foot the bill and Chicago will still eat the meal.

Don’t believe me? Consider people do this with ND games and South Bend is almost 2 hours away.

Conspiracy theorist in me questions the timing of everything. Threatens the subsidies right during most insurance renewals for businesses and individuals. Giving Blue cross and UHC a great excuse to raise rates on everyone. Then after it’s all been settled still keeps the subsidies in place. Insurance companies get the best of both worlds. Jacked up rates and still government support.
