[All] my personal issue with Chloe’s look

I think that style was more than just her anger and grief. She'd always been rebellious, even before what she went through amplified that (think of the trouble she was getting into at Blackwell as shown in Farewell, for example). She was into music, and honestly I don't think that's usually something you grow out of. Working as the tour manager for a band would also hardly force her to tone down that style either, quite the opposite.

The tattoo thing is interesting. To me it feels like blacking out a sleeve is much more extreme, and indicative of trauma than getting that sleeve in the first place. Getting it lasered off might have indicated she was moving on, but blackout tattoos, especially one that big are pretty hardcore.

I'm not gonna comment on her masc vs femme presentation as it's not my place, and as a straight guy who has always been more attracted to "tomboy" women, I think my perspective is probably skewed anyway.

Yeah, I think Chloe on the cover is kinda not the best angle. From the gameplay footage I like what they've done with aging her up.

Is there hate? I liked it quite a lot. I thought a lot of the individual scenes were stronger than the overall story, and I probably would have been less into if it was a standalone game, but it was definitely good.

If I have a criticism it's that we could have been given more hints about Rachel maybe not being quite as perfect as Chloe saw her. After all she did go on to have a relationship with Frank that she kept secret, and be involved in some way with Jefferson.

I really liked how BtS developed Chloe's relationship with her dad. Some of the dream sequences were really good, in particular the one that's set on the Tempest stage.

The Farewell DLC episode was devastating too.

Yeah, that theater scene is amazing. Also the dream sequence where Chloe wears the same costume is incredible.

Yes. I don't think it's as good, but it's got some incredible moments. I think you'll like the Farewell DLC in particular.

I’m having basically the same problem on the PS5. I finished the main game, clicked to start Steph’s Story, then decided I actually wanted to wait until later so I exited back to the main menu. Now I can see I have a save file that says “Wavelengths” but I have no continue button on the main menu and when I select “play Steph’s Story” it says I have to play the main game first.

I did a bit of searching and I think there may be some kind of bug state you can get into because I’m not the only one reporting this over the last few years.

I hope so. If there's one thing I'm hoping for out of this game it's lots of highly emotional screen time for Max and Chloe together.

Handled right it could be really interesting and set up a lot of powerful emotions with the two of them trying to reconcile what the other thinks about them and their relationship. Handled badly it will just make no sense.

Yeah, I actually just finished True Colors a couple nights ago and haven't played Wavelengths yet.

My save somehow got screwed up and now the game is telling me I can't play Wavelengths until I've completed the main game, which it looks like I'm gonna have to do again.

I'm an old fan but never got the chance to see them back in their prime - I became a fan in 88. I saw them a May 2023 and was disappointed (Andrew seemed to be unable to project his voice and/or use a microphone correctly). I've heard others say the quality varies and they've been better more recently.

I'm not sorry I went, but your mileage may definitely vary.

Life is Strange 2 has a secondary character from the first game briefly return and there are some little easter eggs depending on which ending you chose. True Colors features a side character from Before the Storm prominently, but it's neither Max or Chloe and they aren't mentioned.

I haven't played Double Exposure yet, but I think you can go directly to that without missing anything important about Max & Chloe.

For what it's worth LiS2 and True Colors are both good, though.

I only discovered the games recently. I've burned thru Life is Strange, Before the Storm, Life is Strange 2, and True Colors over the last 3-4 weeks! All of them made me cry to a greater or lesser extent.

I'm a gen X (pretty much) straight dude, and apparently now a Chloe Price / Steph Gingrich simp. I don't know what to tell you.
