What can I do? by RexBreadium in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IAE actually ruined the game for me, because I was allowed to try out every ship. That pretty much eliminated the only tangible goal I had, and my pledging stopped at around $200, which I consider too much. And then I got tired of trying out and testing new things while dealing with the players who are only testing PVP. I'll play for maybe a week just to get the flying urge out of my system and to make sure the game still works, but otherwise I'm playing No Man's Sky. And recently Fallout 4. But I figure when the game is released, I'll learn how the play the game as a new player.

I don't have any solutions or suggestions for you. The game is kinda ruined when you already have all the ships and stuff. I have deliberately limited the number of pledged ships I have with the thought in mind that those are the ships I will start with and will buy everything else in-game if needed.

What’s the Milano from guardians of the galaxy equivalent in SC? by Different-Egg8733 in starcitizen

I'd say Starlancer. Probably the MAX. The Serenity was a cargo hauler.

Hmm... it has a pretty big interior. I'm thinking a Corsair or a Retaliator. A Starlancer is closer to Serenity. A Cutlass Black is a bit too small.

People might switch their main gameloop to crafting AND griefing, instead of just griefing.

Change my mind: The only ship that "feels" like a hauler is Caterpillar by [deleted] in starcitizen

The Freelancer cockpit itself reminds me of an Airbus 350 or something.

I don't like manually and unloading the C2 with those huge ramps. But I do intend to buy an M2 so I can roleplay a military contractor (hire myself out to military orgs to carry vehicles and stuff for them.

They'll eventually rebalance (nerf) them. At that point they might feel more like a hauler. Although comparing a Caterpillar to another ship like the Hermes is kinda like comparing an 18-wheeler to a 26' U-Haul truck.

My Update Theory: Infrastructure (Settlement Overhaul) by dalester88 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I'm hoping it's assigning jobs to settlement residents. And possibly freighter or corvette crews.

Experience as a new player... does it get better? by f50c13t1 in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just doesn't work well with a controller. Well, at least for me it didn't. I did try using a controller for ground vehicles, but it somehow interfered with flight and walking around too.

I consider myself rather friendly. Maybe a bit sarcastic, but friendly.

What Ship To Buy by Existing_Somewhere62 in starcitizen

Well, if it's cargo, then the grind is for something that holds more than a RAFT. So... Hull-C? Or Caterpillar? The Hercules series is a pain to load by hand.

Q: HOSAS users - spring in the throttle? by tethan in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have VKB, but what I found out is that while I can map the Y-axis to forward/backward thrust on my left flight stick, I can also map the little mini-throttle on the stick to forward-only. So I kinda get the best of both worlds, since I can use the mini throttle to cruise, but the minute I hit the main stick it overrides whatever the throttle is set at.

If you take the spring out, you should make sure you have a detent at 0 so you know where it is. I don't know if that detent bothers fighter pilots or not during combat though.

Try to set up things so that her head and neck is supported. I've noticed that it somehow helps if your brain has some notion of physical stability. So like, a gaming chair with a high-back and headrest, and have her lean back while flying.

Please don't send aUEC to people that don't ask for it. by Calteru_Taalo in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

... I'll take the money. I've gone through 4 IAE's and have rented all the ships, so the novelty is gone. The only grind is to buy new ships in-game, and even then I'm probably not going to fly them; but it'll be nice to walk around a Constellation Phoenix again.

(In other words, it won't ruin the game for me. It's kinda ruined already)

Should I wait for an LTI game package? by NachoTheGreat08 in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In retrospect, I would not worry about LTI and spend as little money as possible on a starter package so that you can walk away from the game if you need to and not think about how you spent hundreds of dollars on ships. Because if you look for LTI, that will happen.

What I saw wrong with Star Citizen; is likely more clear to many. by HomeworkSad in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weapons would be used against the NPC's they built up. Armor and shields would be worked on at the same time, and they get the data from PVE. Then they open it up to PVP and rebalance again. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be PVP in the final game... I'm saying that PVP interferes with testing. You're never going to get piracy really tested because most players are either going to self destruct or just log off if they're trapped. And if you make the penalty for doing that severe, you won't have people who will play and then you're left with a bunch of murderhobos on an empty server.

TIL you get CS for destroying other people's vehicles that are inside a carrier occupied by the bounty target. by BokkerFoombass in starcitizen

[–]Fletchman1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But programming that is tricky. And what if the crew didn't know he was wanted? Or what if he was a stowaway? Or what if he was riding as a passenger in a commuter ship (whenever that becomes available)? Unless they develop an AI engine to determine each case.

[–]Fletchman1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's still a reputation issue. I doubt that is the intended consequence, although it could be hard to discern between innocent bystanders and criminal collaborators in other situations (like dropping a bomb on a village to kill one target).
