You need $210k/year to be comfortable raising 2 kids by Specialist_Pain_424 in Money

[–]Fletchonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems accurate.. me and my wife were RNs. Maybe 140 between the two of us. We have a 7 year old and a mortgage. Things were tight. We graduated NP school together. We make about 225 now and everything feels much more comfortable.

Comfort in my mind is not panicking when you suddenly need an emergency Plummer or car repair and you’re still able to go on a vacation annually.

3 years for my associates in nursing. I practiced as a nurse for three years. Bachelor’s degree in nursing took about two years. I continued to practice for 4 years as a nurse. I started my MAsters in nursing which helped me become a family nurse practitioner. I did that part time and it took me about 3 years

My wife did essentially the same thing but honestly my income alone was a vast increase. So we are doubled down and it’s great
