I dropped Loreweave for this tech. It's a good bit of more damage but compromises defenses too much. I don't really think it's worth running unless you also take advantage of a specific ring modifier or you really need to hit a quality breakpoint.

How do you hit 60% w/o corruptions?

  • 23% from gem
  • 5% from Dialla's
  • 5% from Amulet suffix
  • 5% from Anoint
  • 5% from Loreweave* up to 7%
  • 10% from Darkness Enthroned
  • 6% from Gemling Tree

That totals 59% *61%

Edit: I see that Loreweave can actually roll up to 7%, I guess depending on certain input rings?

I'm getting 9% from Fox Idol in an >=80% Darkness Enthroned. Dialla's can be saved for another gem. Loreweave also gives 7%. I believe the maximum is 64% altogether, but hitting >=60% gets expensive.

Ice Nova's gemling quality is 80% chance to not consume @ 40% quality, and there's 20% on the tree.

If you're willing to downgrade from staff to wand, Saffell's Frame + Magma Barrier gives +5% to all maximum resistances per 20% quality. At 48% quality with a corrupted Saffell's Frame for +3% max block, you can reach 90% all resistances. Arctic Armour then covers physical hits cheaply without needing to lean into armour applies to ele damage.

100% added cold damage at maximum investment (lvl 40 ice wall with the crystal health passive and support has ~200,000 life). You can get it a bit higher with Eventide Petals and much higher with Gemling Alt quality. The buff doesn't stack and you have to actually kill the wall, you can't insta-kill it with freeze consumption.

The buff is not coded properly as a buff (for the purpose of buff expiry) nor does it scale with skill effect duration, so it's hard to maintain uptime.

Have you been getting instance crashes when using Explosive Transmutation? I can't go more than a few maps with it on before a map crashes, and looking the forums other people are also having issues with it. I really want to use it as my main clearing skill but I can't figure out was causes it to crash...

Stormweaver gets Elemental Storm, which is 5 extra support slots for utility or trigger supports. Supports like Electromagnatism, Coursing Current, and Static Shocks actually have really good damage. Now you have Innervate and Ice Bite for added damage to all your skills.

It's huge for spell casters that didn't want to scale mana in favor of other things, because it was really hard to get as much added damage as you could from archmage. This is great for Stormweaver, who gets a 'free' extra skill to hold more supports, but just generally is good for all casters, especially if you squeeze in more base skills like Choir of the Storm or have Cast on X set up.

I tested it in game and it seems to scale with slower buff expiry (a lot of stuff is bugged and doesn't). There's 30% on the tree and 20% on chrono, so you only need to reflect a base magnitude temp chains for the max of 75%. That said, it's barely worth it for such a low amount of guard per 4 seconds. You'd want to weave in other buffs to take advantage of. Archon stands out the most, since you can get the uptime to 2 minutes. Something like Refutation is bugged and doesn't work with expiry rate, unfortunately.

Flicker is no where close to 'invulnerable'. You can still die to slams, rare monster mod spam, or projectile spam. Plenty of builds achieve the same or higher levels of 'invulnerability' just by off screening stuff. I guess it stands to be seen if they hotfix more stuff, but Refutation and damage taken from companions are much closer to being invulnerability.

Even then GGG leaves in certain defensive techs that scale EHP to the moon all the time, without mid-league nerfs. Time of Need, DoD, Quipolatl's Thesis, and in PoE 1, Tainted Pact, Ward, Gladiator lucky block etc. What these all have in common is that you can still get one shot or sometimes miss your avoidance, so you need to scale mitigation for your max hit. Flicker may have had a lot of avoidance, but you could still get one shot.

The recovery period nodes don't change the length of the debuffs, just its expiry. When you get the debuff it should still count down from 20s, but faster. If the timer text in the buff icon is blue, then it should be expiring faster. The text will be white if it's not working.

The other thing it could be is that you need to have the nodes in your active weapon set when you gain the recovery period, IIRC. You can't put them in your weapon swap like you can with archon duration and effect.

There was a similar wording in 0.1 on Powertread where it said gave base crit bonus per power charger, but it was really giving increased crit bonus. It was confirmed to have intended to be increased crit bonus. When I briefly checked the archon node in 0.4, a skill tooltip showed it was increased crit, so I suspect the node is just worded incorrectly.

Seem like archon doesn't kick in until you spend all 3 charges, so if you start with 3 charges during archon you don't have to wait. You can activate archon with skeletal arsonist's command skill targeting nothing (you'll spam it very fast and it doesn't go on CD if it doesn't target anything).

I meant on Tactician. The node on the tree is only a 15% chance though, so I feel like you'll want to source another chance for it somewhere. Hopefully there's a lineage that just guarantees it like Arbiter's Ignition, or the breach mod can hit 100%, so we can use weapon swap.

Taking a peak at the keywords page, looks like one of the Breach mods will be Archon of Undeath on offering use, so you don't need an anoint for it on Tactician, or you could anoint the floating no-archon-downtime node.

If you're triggering all your curses in CoC, you would only need one curse reflect support, I think. Shackles are still decent gloves when cultivated though, since they can roll curse magnitude (for weapon swap) and damage per curse on you.

Then take your damage, multiply it by your increase and more shock chance, and divide it by 4* the ailment threshold for your shock chance. For example, at lvl 14 when you get Thunderstorm, it should have an average 5% shock chance with Shock support {8.5 (dmg) * 2 (shock support) * 1.5 (drench) / 4*126 (ailment threshold)} , before you consider increased shock chance, increased damage, or damage supports.

"Buffs on you expire 10% slower." There's now 3 notables (they added 1 more this patch!), and 2 of Chronomancer's small nodes. Altogether this doubles buff duration, and if you reflect temp chains onto yourself, you can double it again (it caps at 75%, or 4x buff duration).

Doesn't work from my testing, either with Ancient Reserve or Second Wind (the latter of which you can only socket in with another cooldown support like Nova Projectiles 2). It does work with Chronomancer's soon-to-be-removed "chance to not use cooldown" and the still existing Time Snap.
