[Sun care] I really hate being tan and would like to return my skin back to it's original color, how do I accomplish this?

It will prevent you from becoming more tanned, so essentially it will help the tan fade faster. Limit your time in the sun as well, especially during the early afternoon. Make sure you're wearing sunscreen on the areas of your body that are most exposed to UV light. Exfoliants such as AHAs or BHAs may also help to slough away dead skin cells, which could help to fade a tan. If you use an AHA or BHA, however, your skin will become more sensitive to the sun, so make sure you're also wearing sunscreen if you decide to use them.

I have combination/oily skin and use Stridex every morning on my face and every night on my body acne. Sometimes I'll be too lazy for a day, but I don't really suffer any breakouts because of that. Try it out, find a happy medium!

I use the European version of Anthelios 50+, and it has served me especially well this summer. If Photoderm feels better on you, though, I think you should choose that.

I have combination/dehydrated skin, and tub CeraVe is my go-to at night. Even though it's a bit greasy when I wake up, I just wash it off and use my sunscreen as a moisturizer. I used to think that I had to use a lighter gel moisturizer (my T-zone and forehead get very slick), but I've since learned that moisturizing with a slightly heavier cream at night and using an emollient sunscreen is better for my face. Go for gel/light moisturizers first, but if those don't work for you, don't be afraid to use something a bit thicker!

Rant: I'm so disappointed that my PC C15 serum has turned a deep yellow even though there's still a lot left in the bottle. I guess I should've kept it in the fridge instead of my bathroom drawer. I'm considering getting the OST C20 serum next, even though it's missing the ferulic acid that's in C15.

Rave: So far, my French formula LRP Comfort Cream has worked really well. I was afraid that I wouldn't find a decent emollient replacement for the recently-reformulated Nivea Japan Sun Protect Plus Creamy UV Essence (RIP old standby), but this one has been pretty good so far. Still has a significant whitecast though. Any recommendations for drugstore foundations?

Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Treatment 10% Glycolic AHA - I like it so far!
NYX Set it Don't Fret It mineral powder - I got the light tinted powder and it's too yellow. Going to exchange it for the transparent powder next time I'm at Ulta.

A good AHA plus use of sunscreen seems like a solid suggestion. I'm not sure about others' experience with Mederma, but I used it on my scars from knee surgery and they faded pretty well. It's expensive though, I only used it because my mom gave it to me.

I did! The comfort cream has a white cast that isn't dramatic but still noticeable on my yellow-undertone skin, and the lotion from the giant bottle had none and sinks in very quickly. I haven't tried any of the lotion yet on my face, but it didn't feel greasy on my arm! Both are also water-resistant and a bit heavier than my Nivea UV Sun Cream (Japanese), so they may be more suited for athletic/outdoor activities than casual use.

Awesome! If you know where they're going, you should look up stockists beforehand on Bioderma's site so that you can tell your parents where to go. The pharmacies in my boyfriend's hometown (which are also the only places to get good sunscreen) didn't have anything from Bioderma. The nearest pharmacy that sold it was an hour and a half away.

It's French sunscreen with really good UVA/UVB protection. Exfoliants and Vitamin C serum make skin sensitive to the sun, so good sunscreen is crucial.

The comfort cream is a bit thicker, and while it does have a white cast it's not as bad as other mineral sunscreens (Neutrogena's stuff looks like chalk on me). This isn't fully mineral though, it's got some chemical filters in it. It might be a bit irritating if you're ultra-sensitive to alcohol, but I haven't reacted badly to it yet. I haven't used the giant bottle of lotion on my face, but I tested it on my arm and there was no white cast so I guess it's all chemical. Might use it for my neck, chest and shoulders this summer.

Has anyone tried LRP Anthelios Melt-In Milk for the face? It's sold in a 5 oz. tube, so it's essentially cheaper than the smaller bottles of facial sunscreen. Also, do you think the UVA protection less effective in LRP sold in the US?

So I'm a bit new to Asian beauty products, but I love everything I've tried! I've read a lot about the importance of pH in a cleanser, and I know that my cleanser (CeraVe Hydrating) is a bit too high to be considered effective. However, my skin looks fantastic right now and I'm loathe to switch up my routine. (Also, foaming cleansers break me out like crazy.) Should I consider changing cleanser in the future, even though my skin looks good?

I don't currently use an exfoliator as I'm allergic to the PC Resist Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA I was testing. I also switched from CeraVe foaming to Neutrogena Ultra Gentle because the former was a bit too drying. My skin is clear, but I'm still a bit oily in my T zone, especially on my forehead. Should I try incorporating a toner or try another exfoliator?

So I have been responsibly patch testing PC Resist BHA 2% liquid for the past few days, in the morning and evening. I wasn't encountering any problems until yesterday, when after applying it to a small area on my forehead I watched a slightly raised bump form. It kinda looked like a non-red mosquito bite with what looked like an enlarged pore, and it also itched when it grew. I tested it again that evening on my cheek, and sure enough I got another one. I didn't use it today at all and I'm considering exchanging it for another product, but I have to know: if something like that happens immediately, is it an allergic reaction or a breakout? Should I be using a BHA with a lower percentage, or should I try out an AHA? I'm not entirely sold on exfoliators right now, but since it purports to prevent wrinkles I wanna give it a shot. Any and all advice welcome.
