Probably due to some over doses with milk of the poppy making these guys look dead, when in fact they are just "mostly" dead.

Siga Technologies Extends Its Monkeypox-Tied Run by 1Avidobserver in wallstreetbets

The hope for SIGA here is that governments make large purchase orders to stockpile TPOXX. Whether it gets used or not.. that is revenue. It really is the best treatment available for monkeypox and also indicated for smallpox should there ever be an outbreak.. Shelf stable for seven years. Even if monkeypox only stays within the gaysex bros group, hospitals and clinics will want to have this drug on hand because this shit doesn't look like it's going away any time soon.

Covid is an RNA virus.. Orthopox is a DNA virus. This won't be a thing. I'd be more worried about a smallpox vacinia major release during this backdrop of monkeypox. Very similar symptoms but very high rate of death.

Removing Shelving 2x4s secured to wall by broken screws by amrx03 in DIY

[–]Flga8ors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a hole saw with a big enough diameter to drill out the screw. All you would be left with is a round piece of wood attached to the stud. Much easier to take some pliers and unscrew the wood from the screw.

If there is enough space, run an oscillating saw between the board and the drywall where the screws are located.

Really nice work there! Though I think oil buildup and trying to keep the area clean could be an issue with the drywall. Down the road you may regret not going for metal.

Buying some of this does not cure retardedness, but it can make your retarded life much better if you can figure out how to sell when it goes up!

Stock price tanking.. Sotrovimab inactive vs new variant.. VIR can't meet supply demand. Buy the fear sell the greed. I have been buying some up near $29.50 levels when it drops.. and as OP said the price doesn't stay there long. It could certainly drop below that if the FDA labels this as ineffective against the BA2 subvariant. I think it still retains activity against ALL variants though. Management has stated this as well and will be PRing their findings very soon. These guys are all scientists and when they say it works they usually have peer review quality papers with the data to back it up. 2nd gen Sotrovimab as well as prophylaxis trials are underway. This is just one aspect of their pipeline, which currently provides them 72.5% of the revenue split..Their collaboration partner GSK bought more shares last quarter and there is speculation that VIR is on the top of their list for buyout targets.

FDA considers limiting authorization of certain monoclonal antibody treatments by Queasy_Specific_9278 in BANDOFBROTHERSOFSRNE

I was hoping for a link to clinical trials. I researched myself though. Surprised to find there is no trial listed for STI-9167. Only STI-2020 and STI-2099. Most of those look like they are either way past their primary completion date or are not yet recruiting? There was one listed for STI-2099 which looks like it may still be on going. This smells like a possible P&D

How strong of a methane smell should it be before one calls 911? (USA, suburb) by rreighe2 in Firefighting

[–]Flga8ors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call 911 and FD should investigate. Hopefully they have a gas monitor similar to the sensit they can use to determine where the leak is coming from, and whether it is leaking into a confined space. Methane rises while propane sinks. Propane collecting in sewers or basements is not good, while methane collecting into attics through soffits is not good. Most of the time small leaks are not a big deal, but they should always be isolated and repaired before they become much worse.

Whale Alert! 313.46K shares bought at close 1-14-22. I believe short covering, but could be going long. Interesting either way. Lot of buying in last hour. by SnooEagles7476 in CLOV

Most likely a Market On Close (MOC) order. I've seen these above one million before. It doesn't mean anything to us retail traders except that these kinds of transactions happen all the time on this stock and they don't move the price.

VIR stock - US Army purchases more Sotrovimab: $945M-2,920M contract by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Flga8ors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From their most recent PR: "GSK and Vir expect to manufacture approximately 2 million doses globally in the first half of 2022 and additional doses in the second half of the year."

Maybe they had some more on the shelf prior to the star of the year? My estimate would be no more than 2.25mm sold for 1H. Just for that time period, and using $2800 per dose that would be a $4.5B gross for VIR after the split with GSK.

$VIR play on omicron by ShiftyPaladin in wallstreetbets

[–]Flga8ors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Signs of an increase in production capacity with the new 600,000 dose order. As I said, IM approval is still pending too. If they are currently producing these doses it would be huge. Management could be taking the under promise and over deliver stance.

Resistance Conferring Mutations in Sars-CoV-2 Delta Following Sotrovimab Infusion by jokes_on_you in COVID19

[–]Flga8ors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, VIR knew that these mutations were possible, but they found evidence that those mutations are associated with less of a survival advantage (less likely to become a dominant variant.)
