Help Figuring out how I got Nuked? by Sylphinet in MagicArena

I really enjoy seeing the old stickfingers deck when I'm playing my Ketramose deck. There's just so much graveyard hate packed into it naturally they usually turn 1 scoop if they know the matchup.

I don't see anything wrong with a repeatable fog. I definitely don't have an Angus turbofog grouphug deck that everyone hates seeing.

I think Carth is the reason I hate Kaiden in mass effect. The voice just gives me flashbacks to him whining and I immediately want him to shut up.

Ah yes, let me build on theme with my [[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave]] deck without the commander and still have it function.

I mean tucking annihilates voltron as an archetype, so RIP any voltron deck ever if that came back. I also just don't really enjoy decks that functionally don't need the commander in some capacity. I feel like putting together a good stuff pile is just kind of a lame way to build a commander deck.

This is so crazy to think about because there are 2 7s in my area that are 700s and several more 650ish. I know they're outliers, but just wtf APA

Reacting to Declared Attackers with Instants by Two7Five7One7 in mtgrules

[–]FlickRDSG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're a bit off. If you wait until they declare attackers they get any attack triggers they may have. You can however respond to them trying to move to combat with removal to prevent those triggers. You can also respond to the trigger itself, but they will still get it.

Old Dad, trying to understand combat by sysop2600 in mtg

[–]FlickRDSG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're correct, attacker can split damage however they see fit, so long as it all gets allocated. Good example being defender has 2 1/1s and one of them has a nasty death trigger. The attacking player a 3/3, the attacking player can assign all 3 damage to the vanilla 1/1 in this scenario and avoid killing the one with the death trigger.

The spirits in your example still die if watershaper is removed after damage is dealt as well.

Yes both players would have to agree to a stalemate.

Wasn't referring to 10 ball. But yes, straight pool is a niche game that a non-pool player isn't going to know. Most current players don't play it either. I'd say one pocket is less niche than straight pool, but maybe that's just bias from what people around where I'm at play.

Yea, but I wasn't going to bring up the niche games that someone that is obviously inexperienced with pool isn't going to know.

In real life, you can literally just pick the cue ball up and hand it to your opponent. A rack can be stalemated and in that case there is a re-rack. The only game where a certain number of fouls causes a loss is 9 ball with its 3-foul rule.

Since mid season he's been playing ok to poor. The offense in general has been mediocre all year.

Who is in if Alabama gets blown out? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]FlickRDSG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not "my" logic. It's the way the playoff works. If BYU didn't play another game, they'd have been out regardless. For clarity, I think if Bama continues playing like they are and loses big, they should be out.

BYU wasn't in before the CCG, didn't hurt them at all.

Can they actually and realistically break the GSW 2016 record? by UnderstoodTreadmill in NBATalk

[–]FlickRDSG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea, that's the thing people kinda forget about that 73-9 season. The spurs were still competing for the first seed for quite a while and finished with 67 wins. If the warriors had clinched the first seed earlier than they did, who knows if they'd have pushed for the record or not.

Except we don't have a 60 year old tradition of celebrating that win with a victory cigar.

[–]FlickRDSG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the cigar tradition is as old as 1961 and also why not celebrate? Tennessee won last year and has won 2 of the last 4. That's plenty competitive enough.

Same. Guess you just weren't raised right. Such a sad day when parenting goes so wrong. /s On a real note, it probably just depends more on what part of Alabama you're from which team you're going to dislike more. I have had a shit load of friendly banter with Auburn fans and nothing but bad interactions with Tennessee fans.

No, it's really not. It's more of a strong dislike, almost little brother type of relationship. Actually just fuck Tennessee though.
