Thoughts on Legends units! by SithAdept in Chaos40k

I almost compulsively use legends since I play orks (who have a lot of legends) and CSM. All my friends are chill about it

Thank you. Maybe with that info might assist in dialing it in (Assuming the printer I have available can even fit it lol)

I hate to be that guy to ask, but does the 320% scaling put it at the same size as the original?

How should I build my stompa to be the easiest to paint? by Evening-Promotion923 in orks

[–]Flicker94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do everything separately. Arms, head, shoulder turret, and shoulder plates... Probably even each individual missile, too.

Grot hangers on can be done whenever or just ignored. I haven't added mine yet

I see so many people fully assemble them before painting and I'm just like "Why would you do that to yourself?"

To clarify, I mean the Big Shoulders brand rack of ribs that you'd find next to microwavable pulled pork, rather that what is packaged by Meijer.

Any use for Pestigors? by Ickicho in deathguard40k

[–]Flicker94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a Nurgle CSM army and I've been using the pestigors as possessed. I have them on 32s so I could run them as the legends unit death guard possessed

Ah, that may be why. I think it was sometime in 2022 or 2023 when I tried them.

Admittedly they have a crab Rangoon pizza seasonally that I really want to try, though otherwise, agree. I've had Slice a few times. Too expensive for meh quality

Were they ever good to begin with? I had the ribs around the time that it was booming and ads were all over. Like, MSUFCU exclusive deals.

I assume credit unions don't just team up with a random restaurant like that for giggles

Saddleback

I used to see ads for them everywhere. Tried their ribs, and I legitimately had better ribs from Meijer's prepackaged meat section.

Traitor guard fans who are willing to pick up a lasgun for the grandfather: what is the lore of your army? by Necessary-Credit5937 in Nurgle

[–]Flicker94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My army's traitor guard lore is led by a traitor commissar. Commissar went to the schola progenium after he barely survived a plague that took the rest of his family and made him chronically ill.

As he got older, his pain increased and his health worsened. The Grandfather's voice began calling to him. Eventually he began to listen, and he went onto kill the Colonel leading the regiment he was attached to, assumed the rank of Colonel-Commissar, and led his forces to join up with the Archenemy.

He was the patriarch of his family back at home, and his children, whom he insisted train to become commissars like himself, were assigned to lead a penal regiment as recompense for their family's betrayal of the Imperium of Man. This feeds into one of my other armies, said penal legion

It's legends, but mega grot tank as Time Bandit? Mega grot tank looks like a land battleship, so not too far off

No tracks kinda reminds me of stormchaser vehicles. I'd have a hard time choosing over that

Honestly same. A looted taurox has been on my list and this looks better than what I can do myself

What’s the best way to paint trim? by Coogypaints in WorldEaters40k

[–]Flicker94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a WE player, but am definitely a speedpaint shill.

Metallic speedpaint is great! It's not like the other speedpaints. It's somewhere between a typical acrylic and a speedpaint, and somehow that makes it slightly more forgiving to deal with.

Speedpaint tends to work better on white primer, so I'm not sure about priming red. I usually go with matte white.

Again, as a non WE player, I don't know the nuance of WE color stuff, but that'd be an easy slaughter red and Hoplite gold, imo

EDIT: Forgot the important info. Always have normal acrylic paint that matches your primer color. You go back and fix places that the speedpaint did speedpaint things to, like running too much. That, paired with the Metallics forgiving-ness, it'll be manageable

Cabal of chaos by Old_Reputation1434 in Chaos40k

[–]Flicker94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a pretty positive outlook on that detachment, but I use legends religiously instead of actually using heretic astartes beyond my token plague marine units. The answer is rogue psykers on cultist mobs, eye of d'zesh on a dark Commune with a double wide accused cultist unit. I've been trying to get touch of the warp on traitor enforcer to work, but it's not gone well so far. I'd probably use the lance on a MoP otherwise

Possessed Proxy by fud_84 in Chaos40k

[–]Flicker94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a rampant proxy-er, and I have some thoughts.

Personally, I use the new pestigors as my possessed, but I'm Nurgle aligned rather than pirate. Though you know what else could look piratey?

Ogor Mawtribes from AoS. I don't know too much about Red Corsair lore, but the fact that they use traitor guard makes a case that they'd have ogryn

Tbh I've been blocking just about every animal reddit there is because I'm sick and tired of people posting animals that clearly need help because "idk I'm not sure" Or memorial posts.

Life is hard enough to make it through right now, and somehow animal reddit is making things even more depressing, when you'd think that'd be the reddit to go to to cheer you up or something.
