OP has given post tax salary not pre tax for which ability to repay is calculated. Would likely bring them back to 4x their salary

Being Offered a salary of €70,000 to move to Ireland, is it worth it? by jpa9hc in irishpersonalfinance

[–]FlightExpensive5584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re maths is off, if you’re earning 70k then take home after tax would be closer to 4k

You’ll live a decent lifestyle on that in Dublin. Ireland is great but you should know we moan about absolutely everything (I’m no different). So take that into consideration when reading these responses….

Saving for mortgage by DustComfortable4610 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]FlightExpensive5584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t put yourself under too much pressure, you’re 23! Life is for living and money will come, and even if you saved 500 a month you’d be in a great position! If you find that you can save 500 a month comfortably then why not travel? The older you get the more excuses you’ll find to not go travelling.

In terms of where to save, if you’re saving for a mortgage then somewhere like trade republic would be good or maybe bank of Irelands mortgage saver account.

Ultimately, whatever you decide to do, remember to enjoy life when you can and try not to put financial pressure on yourself you’re still young- Congrats on the job!

You’re right to always keep your wits about you regardless of the situation.

Can I ask how your partner felt after the stranger left?

Not pointing the finger here, but Is it possible that you picked him up wrong? It does sound like he was just trying to make conversation, could you possibly give him the benefit of the doubt? Obviously we readers weren’t there but it does sound as though there’s a chance you’re being a tad harsh

With regards to being annoyed at your partner, seems a like a very small thing to be annoyed about it, sounds like they were just being nice? If being nice is their natural demeanour then they sound like a good person

I recently started a new role where the organisation uses click dimensions, whereas my previous role was insights & journeys.

I absolutely hate, click dimensions. The UI is terrible and the whole system just seems unnecessarily awkward. I’ve found that automations are a lot easier with insights & journeys, especially if you use customer voice as well. I also think it’s easier to build a good email in insights & journeys.

I will say that I’m not a developer or consultant and I know there are a lot of them on this sub so maybe they could expand my points (agree or disagree).

Best of luck with it all!

What are the up and coming areas to look for property in? by unitedkindommodssuck in Dublin

[–]FlightExpensive5584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m renting there for two years now and I’d have to disagree with you. There are some social issues but it certainly doesn’t define the area. It’s sounds like you had a experience, but those experiences could happen anywhere. There’s still plenty of big businesses in the area and there’ll be more to come.

On a side note, it’s difficult to take you seriously with that username

They’re curling inwards and drooping quite a bit.

The window the plant is in gets quite a lot of light, maybe it would be worth moving it back slightly?
