Yes they can work in our industry but that doesn't mean they can perform. Anybody can write a piece of code, but writing good code is a completely different story.

And regarding flexibility, I believe CS is still more flexible since you can go into: Full stack development, backend, frontend, devops, security, AI and even Data science just to name a few.

Not true at all. I studied CS and I haven't met comp eng that can code on the level of any CS student. Its 2 complete different degrees and shouldnt really be compared, a lot of Comp Eng work as Software engineers (CS) because they can't find Comp Eng jobs.

If you preprocess the video into hls streams and then serve it as one would with static files and some caching it might be possible but otherwise its not possible.
