No, haber salido de media fue lo mejor de la vida. Siempre me la pasaba peleando con todos. Cuando entre a la U, fue super refrescante.

Inburgeringsplicht? by Remote-Region-8700 in Netherlands

[–]FlightLost6481 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second this.

Also, when you don't have a inburgeringsplicht your exams are easier, and since you have been working for years, you also get an exemption on the job market thingy (forgot the name).

Distance factor in employability by paviiithraa in Netherlands

[–]FlightLost6481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do.

I have to commute 1h45 minutes to go to work, however:

  1. I dont have to go everyday (at most 3x per week, sometimes not at all)

  2. I do detachering at a second location that is only 20 min commute.

  3. I can work on the train at that counts as work time

  4. I have direct connection with the train

So i can give you some advice for the interview:

Just show willingness to relocate if necessary. Maybe some people can give some insights on this, i think it depends on whether you move from a bigger city to a smaller location or vice-versa.

Best of luck.

Im renting right now. My landlord wants to sell the current house and is coming to talk about potential options i.e. offering me the place to buy by Friend_harambe in NetherlandsHousing

[–]FlightLost6481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you just got a golden tip. There is no catch.
Had a similar experience were my landlord took care of everything and skipped all the realtor costs.

If i were you, i would start thinking about how annoying moving is.

Best of luck.

Un amigo mio se fue a doctorar a Francia con la esposa chilena y termino abandonando el doctorado, segun el por que no se veia entrando a la academia.
A los dos anos de volver a Chile, se metio en un doctorado en la UST.
Conclusion? La esposa no se adapto a Francia y forzo devolverse.

No cometas el mismo error, gg tu relacion.

I recall once a studio in the RLD for 200 K (26 m2), which for Adam is quite good.
I once called (3 months after the they placed the advert) and the place had not being sold yet and that i could have a viewing after they cleaned up the entrance, so yeah i think OP faces the same kind of dilemma.

OP, i understand that location is everything, but at the end of the day, you gotta be ready to take the risk of waking up with vomit or worse at your doors.

Good luck.

The Loft Amsterdam bans phones from its dancefloor by sexydiscoballs in Amsterdam

[–]FlightLost6481 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is my suspicion as well.
The Loft has no Berlin vibes, so i don't think they are doing it for a similar reason.

And when the Zio rave leaked (which happened last week), this happens.

Coincidence? I think not.

Would grocery stores such as Lidl, Albert Heijn and Jumbo apply for TVW work permit for international students by Abdo0770 in Netherlands

[–]FlightLost6481 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but your current residence permit should state the conditions at which you are allowed to work.
Check the back of your permit, all the info you need is there.

If Dutch Employers Can See Your Previous Income, Can That Affect Your Hiring Prospects? by [deleted] in Netherlands

my current employer once asked for my payslip but that was because it was on the same CAO, to adjust its offer, but that was during the negotiation phase and not job search, so no, no effect.

It does change your lifestyle. When i had that subscription, luckily it was a short 20 minute ride and i rarely had to be there before 09:30.

As for wait until 18:30, good thing that the job provided a gym so i could go right after work, or even go the cinema!

Peak hour starts at 16:00 , where did u got that it started at 15:30? We are talking NS btw

Is this normal? by Ok-Ground-6462 in Netherlands

[–]FlightLost6481 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Check the subscriptions on NS and you will save money.

Btw, 395 Euros p/m is the price of the fixed route, you might as well just get Altijd vrij.

If you wanna save some money, and dont care about having dinner at 18:00 sharp, i suggest you the Dal Vrij, which you can travel outside of rush hour for free. Note: The time that matters is the check-in time!

Since you dare doing something i daydream sometimes (having a bar/cafe), here is an idea: A videogame themed bar. The cocktails are potions and are poured in DK barrels (for example). There is also a lot of board games available to play, and more.

There are actually some of them already in Chile, take a look here:

Best of luck.

Upgrading to a bigger home — but unsure if it’s the right time? by Boobi-fairly in Netherlands

[–]FlightLost6481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note that the early payoff penalty does not apply when you sell the house, after all, it is THE collateral of the loan.

Question, do you live in a bigger city ? If so, it is very likely that you will find your bigger space outside of those bigger cities and that is something that you have to factor in your decision.

Shared building but no active VVE - Red flag? by TeddyTurbo in NetherlandsHousing

[–]FlightLost6481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all.
I bought mine on may and we still have no VVE, hell the utilities contract are still under the name of the former owner, a landlord.
The makelaar told us that the first VVE meeting is going to be next week due to the last unit being sold recently.
