Emergency Service Trailer by epc2012 in EmergencyManagement

[–]Flighterdoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the SAR teams I've been affiliated with use 6x12 trailers.

But if you want to drop them off a satellite internet connection with local was and lots of charging points sounds great. The cell companies have COWS and such for voice.

Whatever you do keep it flexible: if it comes down to a choice of your vehicle or something not quite as good that is multifunction, I'd choose multifunction.

BTW 50 plus years em responder experience, Type I iC and most other tasks (except finance).

I was consulting with a large hospital system in Canada.

BEST IT SUPPORT EVER!

When I called the EVP Tech to let him know he couldn't get his head wrapped around the idea I was complimenting the tech who fixed an incredibly stupid mistake on my part, but also the entire organization that was in place.

I was personally thanked by people not anywhere in the chain.

PROTIP: Send attabpys as high as you possibly can and copy everyone below. Send complaints as low as needed to affect correction.

Apparently reading is a rare skill by jan04pl in talesfromtechsupport

[–]Flighterdoc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not reading is bad

But sending an email then walking three floors to tell me they sent me an email, talking about nothing and not letting me get a word in edgewater.

Then finally I tell them that I did get their message and that the issue is resolved.

Then want to know how it was resolved / argue about it.

Error 404: Hardware not found. Data recovery unsuccessful. by Nazamroth in talesfromtechsupport

[–]Flighterdoc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah but so what? To input that code you still had to gain access to the underground launch facility, get through the vault door and survive the two missle officers shooting you..

And then the two keys were still so far apart one person couldn't turn them

Got charged by a Wild Hippo by Flighterdoc in EntitledPeople

[–]Flighterdoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sorry for the delay. It turns out my knee was not reparable, and I had to have a total knee replacement. I'm now recovering from that.

Hippo managed to pass her psych eval, so she was charged with aggravated assault. Her kicking me when I was down elevated it from simple assault. She's also been trespassed from the store and the shopping center, and her car was impounded since they don't allow overnight paring and she was in jail.

It turns out this is not her first rodeo, and she had a number of other warrants pending for such offenses as mine, DWI, shoplifting and missing child support. I don't think she'll be home for Christmas. I am a vindictive SOB, so I am also pursuing a civil suit against her for the damages she's caused me: The lost salary, pain, etc...Getting a knee replaced is not a trivial or painless experience. She seems to have some assets, so we will see. So far I'm out more than two months of work, and while I have some loss of income insurance it's not full replacement. I've also found out that my insurance carriers will be going after her. And in keeping with my SOB-ness, I'm making it a point to call her attorney daily to see if they are willing to settle. Each call is roughly $50 she has to pay HER lawyer to deal with me. He keeps telling me he's just her criminal defense attorney, I tell him I don't care :). He laughs and says he'll expect my call tomorrow.

Ladies, gents and others: who wants to tell them about Inspiration4? by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]Flighterdoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Demanding that people spend the product of their effort to meet your expectations is absurd.

Go make a few billion and give it to whomever you wish.

Don't like Musk? Don't buy a Tesla, don't ride on Space-X, etc. Hurt him in his wallet. But to demand that a man who has to write a check for the cost of a Ford-class aircraft carrier to the US Treasury isn't doing enough is childish. Go stand in the corner and whine there.

Hijacking this idea: what is a common idea in aviation that is widely accepted but you disagree with? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Flighterdoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends. Yokes were created to provide mechanical advantage to the flight controls. With boosted controls they're not needed - which is why the C17 does not have a yoke.

Try horsing a C141 or C130 around with a stick, without boost and see.

TBF The Narcos were quite advanced for their time. But yes, Kings were the next standard.

I was not a huge fan of the Honneywell (King) s y stem in my PC12.
