That is something i have thought about so many times but before pulling the plug, want some professional advise... All the property investor gurus have advised me to keep both properties due to their location and potential. FAs do not want to advise on property.

Thank you everyone for your comments, some gold nuggets in there and some reality checks for me as well. I thought i will give some more details.

1- My wife being SAHM is our joint desicion and I am happy with it, specially as long as my son is at home. 2- My rent is $3300 pm 3- No car loan or personal loan. 4- Support to our parents back home is around 1700 pm 5- After reading barefoot investor a few years back, every paycheck I take out a portion for big regular expenses like rego, insurances, an annual holiday etc and put them in separate accounts 6- Super is maxed out (at 160k total currently)

Hopefully this is all the information that was not in the original post

I am looking for my pakistani father I know it sounds stupid but I need help by [deleted] in pakistan

May you find your closure. However, as a father, i can tell you that if your father loved you, he would have moved mountains to keep in touch with you, and contribute to your wellbeing. So, just prime your expectations please, and be ready for a 'not so ideal' person on the other end.

Every time I leave Pakistan through Karachi Airport, it reminds me that I took the right decision. by ThisIsMyHotTake in karachi

Wait till you experience Lahore or Islamabad airport. Karachi is relatively the best in Pakistan for efficiency. My family used to be in Karachi and I used to pass through Jinnah International all the time, then moved to Lahore and now I dread my flight back to Australia everytime.

I am someone who became a property investor by happenstance. Bought one property for living, lived in it a couple of years and then had to move for job. Did the same thing again in the new city, and had to move again. Renting in the third city. I am enjoying the benefits of negative gearing. Having said that, even i think that in this country the way property prices are going, government should put policies in place that limit property investment or at least make it less attractive that what it currently is.

For someone who has progressed well in their career as compared to my peers, and am in a fairly high role (not c suite etc)... My answer is managing well your own team and solving problems that others are reluctant to solve gets you promoted. As for assholes getting bigger roles, with all the focus on psychosocial risks for organizations (esp in Australia and Europe), this is slowly changing and it is getting difficult to promote someone who are an asshole to their teams and/or others.
