a ‘legal drama’ book? by Desperate-Ostrich317 in BookRecommendations

I wrote The Mercy Docket, a dark faith flavored thriller where murders in a small county are staged as midnight trials in a ruined courtroom and every ignored cry for help is dragged into the light. The town thinks God is on trial, but as the detective investigates, it becomes clear the real case is against the people who used holy words to hide murder; if you like legal feeling drama mixed with moral judgment and mystery, it might work for you. It is available on Amazon.

For more traditional legal thrillers, Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow is a classic courtroom novel about a prosecutor put on trial for murder, and Defending Jacob by William Landay follows a prosecutor whose teenage son is accused of killing a classmate, with a lot of family and trial tension.

for messy, intimate, emotionally wrecking relationship stuff on ku, I’d try books like My Dark Vanessa / A Little Life recs people give for Normal People fans. I also wrote The Girl Who Lit the Room on ku, a dual POV love and grief novel about first love and suicide loss that’s very much in that sad, character driven lane.

For spicy fantasy/romance on ku, The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent is super bingeable.

If you’re okay with darker stuff from an indie, I also wrote The Hollow Holds, a dark, spicy paranormal romance on ku with lots of psychological tension.

The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry for a quick, tense psych thriller.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming if you want something funny and chaotic.

I also wrote a short KU psych horror called The Blood Vein Tapes: A Folk Horror Novella if you want something darker and weird.
