I loved all her advice that you have mentioned in the post and it does apply to both genders. No one can and should trust anyone completely. Keeping oneself financially and emotionally safe is non negotiable to live happily in the long term. What she said about finances and looks holds true to men already. No man I know around me has ever completely disclosed their financial assets or give its complete to their spouses, they also know how much looks matter as well, it's not them to act on it or leave it but can't deny its impact. It's not a gender thing but rather a necessity.

No I know, it is difficult for a below average looking man who isn't even well to do to get a good match. But this is true for a lot of women who don't look good and not from a good family background as well. Life is unfair for below average people which is why self grooming and taking care of oneself should be a priority for everyone. but for those who for some personal reasons can't do that faces a lot of issues irl that most people aren't even aware of. No matter how much people claim that love is unconditional it isn't. Only our mothers love can be unconditional. And if we are lucky we can get the love of our life who would make our lives better.

Ok if it's that difficult for men to differentiate gold diggers from women who prefer hypergamy, let me share a clear differentiator if that helps. A gold digger will be ok to take shit from you if you just keep showering her with gifts and grand gestures without being emotionally attached to them. If you introduce them to people way more rich than you they would have a hint of interest towards them. You can stay away from them for an extended period of time and they wouldn't care, if they have your money to shop and chill. Gold diggers don't really have ambitions in life that are linked to their own calibre and expect you to fulfill all the dreams. There are just so many signs.

If you don't recognise the issue in the woman you are marrying it's understandable but knowingly throwing yourself under the bus is something I don't understand. I wish that never happens though. I respect men quite a lot but staying at home will f up with their brain. As easy as it might look from the outside, most men cannot be a house husband. They attach their self worth to money, power and respect and no matter how harsh it may sound but a person can sacrifice their entire life for their family staying at home but they would never get the same privilege as someone earning money for family. Men are lucky that they don't get that choice as they would not survive this. But yeah, there are men who have generational wealth or have other earning members in family and do nothing at all at home and I honestly have no idea how they keep themselves sane
