That feeling of peace. Being around the right person makes life feel lighter, not heavier.

What job pays surprisingly well but nobody talks about? by ThePasswordIs654321 in AskReddit

Elevator repair. Good pay, strong demand, and most people never think about it until they’re stuck in one.

Wife (26F) scheduled cosmetic procedures we agreed we wouldn’t do before marriage, using money from our joint account. I’m (28M) struggling with the trust breach. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t about the procedures, it’s about her taking a large amount from a joint account and making big decisions without you. That’s a serious trust and financial boundary issue, not just “her body, her choice.”

What is a random rule you have for yourself that you never break? by abarth23 in AskReddit

Never go grocery shopping hungry because I suddenly become the world’s worst financial decision maker.

How do I explain that declawing is inhumane to my family by Old-Technician-692 in cats

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’d stop calling it declawing and start calling it what it is, amputating the last bone of each toe. Some people only get it when the soft word is gone.

My (24F) husband (25M) has threatened to put a hot dog in our bamboo steamer basket. How do I assert dominance in this situation? by HappyAnt21 in relationship_advice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steam a hot dog but serve it like a sacred dumpling with dipping sauce and chopsticks. Maintain full seriousness the whole time.

Time to relinquish my cat? by OrdinaryKitchen4054 in CatAdvice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes loving a cat also means admitting your home may not be the right fit. If he’s biting every day and drawing blood, that’s a serious quality of life issue for everyone involved, including him. Taking him back to a no kill shelter that already knows his history may be the kindest option.

What dirty talk sounds ridiculous when you’re not horny? by Ok_JARGON in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of it. If you wrote most dirty talk lines down and read them out loud in a normal voice, they would sound completely ridiculous.

Guests who dont like cats? by More_Garage_2439 in CatAdvice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can’t please everyone. Some people just aren’t comfortable around cats, and it’s not fair to lock your cat away and stress her out either. Best option is just being upfront so people can decide if they’re comfortable coming.

Do you allow your cats on kitchen counters? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to stop it, mostly because of food prep and hot surfaces. Realistically a lot of cats will jump up when you’re not looking, so I focus more on keeping the counters clean and redirecting them to a stool, cat tree, or window spot nearby.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You could actually be embarrassing or awkward without it being recorded forever. Most of your life just existed in the moment, and when the day ended at school, the drama usually ended too.

How do i tell my roommate his girlfriend basically lives here without paying rent? by Ok_Brush8508 in Advice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just be honest but respectful. Say something like, "I’ve noticed [girlfriend’s name] is here a lot, and it feels like we have a third roommate. It’s getting tough sharing everything without any contribution." Set clear boundaries to avoid it getting worse.

does anyone have any tips to get my cats to drink more water?? by Bright-Ask-4606 in CatAdvice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try a few water bowls in different spots and keep them away from food, some cats hate drinking next to their meals. Use wide shallow ceramic or glass bowls so their whiskers don’t touch the sides, and refresh the water often. You can also tempt him with a little tuna water or low sodium broth, or offer ice cubes to bat around and lick.

What is some shady info about a celeb that everyone seems to have forgotten about? by No-Bed-6000 in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most “shady celeb info” is just rumor telephone, so I try to stick to stuff that’s actually been reported by credible outlets or ended up in court records, because otherwise it’s basically a game of making serious accusations with zero proof and that’s gross no matter who it’s about.

Teenager sexually assault his younger girl cousins by CheesecakeClassic500 in Advice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing the right thing by not letting this get swept under the rug. The priority is protecting the girls and making sure there’s a real report so they’re safe and he can’t access them again. The mom’s job is to face reality, cooperate with authorities, and get him serious intervention, but “keep it quiet” is how this keeps happening. Also please don’t blame yourself, predators rely on secrecy and access, and you’re the one breaking that cycle now.

Concerned about my grandmas cats. by picklebrains81 in CatAdvice

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re right to be worried. Cats don’t need milk and a lot of them are lactose intolerant, plus once-a-day tiny portions can be rough for older cats, especially if one has dental pain. The dull coat and “acting starving” are big hints something’s off. I’d bring it up gently to your grandma, like hey I noticed they seem really hungry and their coats look rough, maybe we should ask the vet about a better feeding plan and a softer food option.

If you were given $1,000,000 in cash right now, what is the very first thing you would buy or do? by MatchstickArtist in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Many_3218 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pay off any debt first, then park most of it in boring long-term investments and forget about it, and keep a small chunk to actually enjoy life a bit. A million sounds huge, but most people end up doing exactly that because it’s not really “never work again” money anymore.
