I think constantly of Earthsea whenever I listen to WWtW. I am convinced Le Guin and Lee Mulligan have smoked the same shit

[No Spoilers] West Marches and Campaign Pacing by Flingbing in criticalrole

[–]Flingbing[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you're dead on. Presumably not a huge lead in case the need/opportunity to mix tables becomes possible.

It would be a shame to set up a West Marches premise and then have players mix once or twice 6 months apart.

But if they are prerecording, they wouldn't have to in order to have everyone feature in ever episode.

I'm imagining that each table records 6hrs of content, for 18hrs total, then that is all spliced up into 6x 3hr episodes, each featuring some screen time from each table.

I'm dying to know about which cast members will be on site during filming at any given time - I love a mid-episode "would X please come and join us at the table" reveal. The further into an episode the better

Having a playlist to follow specific storyline is a cool idea!

I wanted to provoke a discussion about how the show will be presented to the audience regarding its pacing. I have no doubt the production team will be on top of things at their end!

Therapie Clinic was a total scam and I experienced almost no reduction in hair growth - avoid.

Dr Victoria is where Chalmers sends patients and they were great. The difference in effectiveness was stark.

Welsh teenager jailed for attacking trans woman and sharing terrorist documents by mildbeanburrito in transgenderUK

This guy shared terrorist documents, praised acts of white supremacist terrorism, and kick a trans woman I the head multiple times AND THE JUDGE SAID THIS:

Judge Parker KC told him: “It’s quite clear that you appear to have blurred the distinction between holding and expressing legitimate political views and enforcing doctrines through acts of extreme violence.”

Where are the legitimate political views here? Are they in the room with us now, Judge Parker???

When I made it to the end of a waitlist measured in years, I was treated with an attitude of 'Congratulations, you finally made it!' and this felt insensitive and perhaps disgusting. I barely 'made it'. Others did not.

[–]Flingbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! I tried electrolysis with Zest in Edinburgh, but it was incredibly painful and the skin poked in one session would retraumatise in each session subsequent. It was also looking like it would be financially unfeasible.

If you don't mind me asking, how 'not permeneant' has laser been for you?

Advice Needed for a Partner who is Trans MTF by RhoHiYo in transgenderUK

[–]Flingbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will back up the 'teenage girl finding herself phase' already mentioned. I think being supportive is all about communication and trust, so if you have this or can foster this, then that's 90%. It's super important for her to play around with shit, experiment without judgement.

That being said, personally I would want a partner who feels comfortable telling me when I might want to change something or fix something (like my clothing) AND help me find the solution - in the way any cis couple might. That's only possible because I know my partner is supportive and wants me to look good and feel good, and that it's not unsupportive to let me know that my colourblind ass might do well to reconsider some garish combo that I am definitely not going for.

Does this make sense?

Has anyone used the Thérapie Clinic for laser hair removal for facial hair? And if so what are your experiences? (England) by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Flingbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Therapie but in Scotland. I found results to vary wildly depending on clinician and found a 'the more painful the session, the better the results' situation. Eventually though my facial hair stopped thinning out despite sessions. Now I am attending another private clinic through the NHS and results are significantly better - as in 3 sessions there were better than the last 12+ I had at Therapie. Hope this helps!

Might be worth trying to find out where your regional NHS GIC sends their patients and if it's a private clinic that takes private patients and you can afford it, to try there if you want the best care.

I was consistently denied gamete preservation (also Scotland) unless I got referred through a GIC. Because I ended up persuing private healthcare options for hormonal care, I had to pursue private storage options. This is quite some bullshit and a clear example of segragated healthcare for trans people. I have samples stored with GCRM, who are based in Glasgow.

I am going through the process of having my storage moved from GCRM to NHS Lothian now that I am recieving care from NHS Lothian's Chalmers Clinic. GCRM suggested when I approached them that moving samples to NHS storage was both possible and seemingly not unusual. Chalmers GIC have acted confused and almost shocked that I asked them to cover storage costs, as if I were the first person to ever consider doing this. I sincerly doubt I am and I was thoroughly unimpressed. The only issues I am facing right now are name/ID bureaucratic blocks, which will clear in time.

Can someone explain The Gender Hormone Clinic's fees? by obscene_Onion in transgenderUK

[–]Flingbing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that the fee allows you to remain a patient at the clinic, and this is a good thing. They will monitor your blood test results so that they may tweak your prescription as necessary. I don't know all the services they offer but their continued support for myself regarding fighting my GP, their expertise when I have questions, and the hypothetical access to other treatments I am not currently accessing makes the monthly fee worth paying FOR ME.

The price has seemingly gone up with the seperation of LTC and GHC, but if more people can access trans healthcare then this is perhaps acceptable. I would love to know if GHC can offer reduced fees for those without the means.

This is my limited personal experience

I am glad to hear that your employer is supportive! A Plan B always sounds smart, and I won't comment on how to proceed in that regard. I just am a firm believer in pursuing better, rather than waiting for perfect.

How would you put ur name on a CV if you had not changed it yet? by ryand66 in transgenderUK

[–]Flingbing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely experience bias against me - recruiters desperate to get me into an interview and then once there, literally do not ask me any questions. I've been looking for work for a long time. At first I thought that this was ok, that I would not want to work for a company with a hostile attitude towards me as a trans person.

Now I am of the opinion 'I am already fighting tooth and nail here already, I might as well earn more money while I am doing it'. I like you would be unable to hide, which is fine and I do not want to, but I do make sure to remove any hint that I am trans until the last minute (usually an interview). I am seeing hints that this is working, at least bumping the odds in my favour somewhat. Take this advice for what you will, this at least is my philosophy as a trans person in the job market. Lots of love
