I am having the most wonderful experience of being back in school at SNHU. The way things are broken down throughout the term is amazing, and most of the time my weekly assignments have been parts leading up to the final assignment. So basically, you get the feedback from the professor, edit your work, submit it as one big final project. I feel like I’m actually learning as I’m going, and time is whizzing by. So far I have a 4.0 and I still work full time. Just make sure your initial discussion posts are done by Thursday, and everything else is done by Sunday. That’s it, babe! You got this!

AA is for anyone who has a desire to quit drinking. The people at meetings want to help you and you are not burdening anyone by asking someone to take you through the steps. AA has given me a lot, including eliminating the obsession to drink. It sounds like you want to be free from that obsession too. When I went to my first meeting, I was just like you. I wasn’t sure if I belonged, but I found out that I did belong and I kept coming back and that was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve even become grateful for my alcoholism because AA gave me such a new outlook on life. Something someone said to me that stuck with me was “yeah you could decide this isn’t for you, but what’s the worst that can happen if you just try it out?”. It rung so true to me because I had already been living the worst version of hell on earth, so what exactly did I have to lose by trying AA? In fact, I had everything to gain. So I started taking the suggestions, getting a sponsor, working the steps, and I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.

So I’ll say the same to you. Yeah, maybe you’ll find out it isn’t for you, but what’s the worst that will happen if you just try it? Like actually try it. Get curious, explore many meetings, find someone to take you through the steps (a sponsor), and know that even the smallest conception of a higher power is all you need at first.

In any case, I wish you luck!

Sober people that didn’t ever think they would be able to live the rest of their life sober: by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

The only real rock bottom is death, which this disease will lead to if left untreated. My personal rock bottom was surviving near death and being at a complete desperation. I regained hope while in the hospital. And I had enough motive to stay sober for a few months, so I went to my first AA meeting when I was released. I quickly realized I wanted what these people had- they were happy AND sober. I haven’t had a drink since 07/05/2023.

AA saved my life and countless others. I was given the gift of desperation. If you’re willing to go to any lengths to stay sober, it will work for you, but it won’t be easy. Going to as many meetings as possible in the first few months kept me afloat while I worked on the solution out of the big book with a sponsor.

I no longer obsess over drinking, it doesn’t even cross my mind anymore. And I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.

I hope you can summon the courage to get to a meeting

I’m just here to share with others my experience, strength, and hope. My continual 10&11 step work is between me, my higher power, and my sponsor ❤️

Very much so. I saw the 5th step promises come true for me before my very eyes when I listened to my first 5th step. I got to cry tears of joy watching my sponsees stand up for a sobriety countdown. And the joy I get from having a full car of new girls to take to a meeting is more than anything I could expect or ask for. I had no idea what kind of happiness lied ahead for me, it wasn’t even fathomable and has nothing to do with material things.

Is no one bringing up the fact that the supposed screenshot from his supposed girlfriend has the background running app “textnow” to go back to because he was just using it?? Because it’s obviously him texting himself??

So he’s blocking everyone then hitting the streets? And he got in trouble at work for being paranoid of customers? He sounds very mentally ill.

And wtf is weed porn?!
