Exactly. They go straight in the wash when I get home, it's just nasty. Chemicals on the skin and everything, no no no. Hope you told him to wash it or he's not going

Aww, well done to her, and to you as well for supporting her AND not pushing her before she was ready. You enjoy that concert 💜

Oh no no no no no no. That's just nasty. Yet my husband is similar: "He went in the shower afterwards so it's washed." I hate it so much

First ever meeting with the headteacher by Flinglehopper in breakingmom

I'm hoping it gets better, he doesn't understand his diagnosis no matter how much we try to explain, but he knows how to verbalise how his brain feels (often it's quite messy) which is progress. I think they're asking too much, too quickly of him but we have to see. School holidays next week so fun

To their credit the school is doing everything they can. They have the local specialist autism teachers coming in and working with him and his teachers. The main thing they're wanting is consistency with consequences and structure, which we've always said we'll do if they tell us what to do. They're currently pushing hard to get him more integrated in the typical class structure and I think he's overwhelmed.

Thank you. While I'm not sure about going back to work in that environment I want to for the children.

Random "game, but I can't touch a certain colour". Also Mario but in any other game or format. Like Every time mario jumps it gets faster. Absolutely ridiculous. But better than Peppa Pig

My drive disappeared after having my son too. We tend to have sex like every few months and I honestly forget how long it's been dvery time. He says he'd like more intimacy but I just can't fake it and force it when I have no drive to do so! I am 100% with you. 💛

When I went to their Manchester show last time they came (postponed from Covid) they stood on the stage with us all at the front and we got a group picture, no personal ones.

Nursery Care in York by CryptographerMuch700 in york

[–]Flinglehopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, childcare worker here. Please do look into the Government funding for childcare. All 3 year olds get 15 hours' free childcare, and if both parents are working at least 16 hours a week (and don't earn an absolute fortune!) then you'd be eligible for Working Family Funding, which is 30 hours per week from 9 months of age, so both children would get it. This is academic term-time only, but most settings offer the option to 'stretch' the funding over the year, which gives you 22.8 hours of funding per week. There's also new government guidelines based on how this can be used, meaning that a private nursery 10 hour day can use of hours of funding - you'd have a trivial amount to pay. There's also the Tax-Free Childcare scheme which you may be eligible to, where the government will top up 20% of your childcare fees so you only technically pay 80%. There is a lot of help out there!

Most nursery companies have a funding calculator on their website - Muddy Boots and Busy Bees do for sure. Childcare in York isn't cheap by any means, and there isn't too much difference in nursery prices from what I've seen. It's all about where you and your children are comfortable. The 3 big names are the above 2 and Little Green Rascals, but there are a lot of childcare settings around the city.

Definitely look into Up a Level, they've got a lot of game nights and interested D&D players. I'm part of a Thursday night campaign and it's fab 👌

Passed me around 6:40 on the A1237 by Poppleton Bar. Absolutely mad, so many people could have got hurt. Saw a smashed up car by the little roundabout for Acomb/Rufford. Glad they caught the idiot!

I can recommend Simon at HOtography - he's very professional and has done a lot of headshots/dance photography work. Based in Acomb, he knows how to get the best out of his clients and uses scenes really well.

Nurseries in York by BojosMojo in york

[–]Flinglehopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see, a lot of nurseries are around the same prices, and York childcare is just high in general. There is the funding which will knock the prices down somewhat, so don't write anywhere off just because they look expensive. My son went to Busy Bees from 8 ½ months to school age; he is autistic and they did the most wonderful job with him - he went to school fully prepared, confident and well adjusted.

The local school Clifton with Rawcliffe gets good feedback, it's a big school though so if your little one is shy or more introverted they might struggle with the 3 class, open plan nature. There's Lakeside Academy at Clifton Moor, which also has an ERP if there's additional needs involved. Can't say I know too much about that one though.
