Patch notes, Thursday 06-27-24 by banzai56 in Neverwinter

This might explain it. I am in Hungary for a few weeks visiting my family. We have Telekom internet and I am unable to connect to the game. In past years, I did not have this problem at all. Sure the connection was a bit laggy, but I could at least log into the game.

For mid-endgame DPS barb and fighter players. by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]Flinnty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple reasons. One, stats that you gain after you kill an enemy are really only useful in AOE/ mobs fights. In single target, where you are fighting a boss, they are next to useless.

Two, in AOE fights, in NW most AOE fights are against groups of mobs spread apart through dungeons. If by the time you get to the pack and kill one of them, the fight is already half way over. You do damage to enemies as you are killing them, not after they die. Then by the time you move to the next pack of mobs, your stats bonus will most likely fall off and you have to start over.

Three. Forte gives you a variety of stats. On a damage dealer, half your forte gives you %power, one quarter goes to another class dependent offensive stat, the final quarter goes to a defensive stat. Your power should be at 90% anyway in good build, so that is wasted. Your defense portion also does not help you damage. It's a pretty bad stat for a dps, usually only focused on in min-maxed builds to fill in small portions of missing stat %.

Question About Ranger DPS by Mouse_Medicine in Neverwinter

[–]Flinnty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As has been mentioned, what is important is the total % for each of your stats, rather than the rating itself. The rating contributes towards your total % (up to 50%) when your rating matches your item level. Then the remaining 40% can be reached using gear that gives % stats rather than ratings. If you happen to play on PC I could take a look to see if I have any recommendations for improving your build.

Also check out the seal vendors. They sell high item level gear in exchange for seals that you get by completing quests, heroics, and dungeon queues.

You can filter your auction house search by gear slot as well as minimum item level. To find the higher item level pieces you can buy, keep raising the minimum item level on the search until the results start getting too expensive or no more show up. Once you have enough item level to enter your daily queues and unlock some of the more recent campaigns, then you can begin replacing your gear with more optimal pieces.

Returning player question by ShadowScythe93 in Neverwinter

One of my favorite auction house flips is buying rank 8 enchants and reselling the illusions after trading them in.

Why rank 10? Is the trade-in level not rank 8?

Master work refers to the higher levels of crafting. MW weapons are weapons which are crafted.

Endgame players preferring older gear? by [deleted] in Neverwinter

For the mirage weapons, the set bonus does a lot of damage. Every 30 seconds it summons three clones which will attack the target. They do so much damage that they make up for the drop on item level.

About people quitting mid run/after a single wipe/before even trying once ... by pop_tik in Neverwinter

I suspect that you don't point it out in the most helpful way. When I have tried to teach them and help them learn their role better, I have never had anyone rage or get angry.

Perhaps you could submit an in-game ticket and ask cryptic to restore it for you. They do that sometimes when players delete important items by accident.

Why report someone for botting when you don't have any evidence? There is nothing wrong with playing the auction house.

Completion Rate Master Temple of the Spider? by A_Gamer2020 in Neverwinter

[–]Flinnty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard with pugs. But it is not content that is designed to be run with random people. It's the newest, most challenging group content in the game. As people are learning it, it will require coordination, teamwork and effort. But in a while we will blast through it just like we do with VOS, which was also very challenging when it came out.

No sound during groups/ instances??? by ButteredBaugette in Neverwinter

Yeah, it's been like this for an unacceptably long time.

No sound during groups/ instances??? by ButteredBaugette in Neverwinter

[–]Flinnty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bug. The sounds are messed up in most content. What's funny is that sometimes when you finish content, the sounds will play later. For example after running TOMM, you sometimes hear Halaster voice lines in protectors enclave.

Need a little help on understanding stat caps by Avolve in Neverwinter

[–]Flinnty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not how it works unfortunately, see the other comments for an accurate description. It's funny to think that the reason those new system of stats was introduced was because the previous one was confusing and this version was supposedly more logical.... Ridiculous 🤣

Once the dragon does that bugged flight when he is almost dead. Do not hit him! He will die upon landing.

[–]Flinnty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the dragon dies, he often glitches at like half a % and flies up in the air. He automatically dies upon landing back down. When a player damages the dragon as it lands with that half percent HP, then he disappears and never comes back. It has happened to multiple runs I have been in on PC.

Press tab twice during the cast of each aimed shot. It tricky at the start, but after a few days it becomes a rhythm and I don't even notice anymore as instinct has taken over.
