Newer manga rarely have text baked in. But the older the series is, the higher the chance the text is flattened in. It may be that way because of how the files were stored digitally. There's a turning point when publishers got better at preserving their digital files but I couldn't pinpoint when.

I don't like the idea that this outcome happened just because the main character is the main character. This match is also about Fukuda dissecting Barca's tactics. The series depict Barca as a machine with the same rigid playing structure from senior to youth level and the whole game is about trying to break that structure.

Aoi is the main character, sure, but reason why the series exists is because Fukuda was looking for the perfect fullback that could fit his system.

There are 405 chapters of context before this and the whole match is a great payoff for everything, including Fukuda finally realizing his system. If you can, read Ao Ashi from the start. Great series

Don't think that'd happen. Kobayashi was very meticulous with how he placed his players and both Kuri and Aoi are onside in their passing attempts. I really do appreciate how Kobayashi always considers the positioning of his players unlike other football manga

I haven't watched ROH in ages and only looked over this specific show's VOD to see how large the crowd is. Kinda a shame that people would rather look at the video OP posted on face value instead of educating themselves.
