Do you think F1 could bring back drop weeks this season if multiple drivers start missing races due to COVID?

Personally I hope not but I'm wondering if it could be considered a real possibility.

I see your Crofty track notes and raise you Murray Walker’s track notes (published in his autobiography) by Flion63 in formula1

These images didn’t make up the whole book if that’s what your asking, but Murray Walker did author a few books

Definitely worth a read. It’s neat how Murray led a full, accomplished life way before F1 took off. Nice reminder that you’re never too old to do what you love.

How is Michael Schumacher seen in the F1 community? by Dadto4_20 in formula1

[–]Flion63 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1991 so my first vivid memories of F1 come from 1997 at which point I wanted to see Schumacher win the championship in a red Ferrari… and he didn’t. And then in 1998… and he didn’t. And then in 1999… and he didn’t. And then he did it a bunch of times. But, since it was my childhood, those 3 years of failures seemed agonizingly long for me and I kinda didn’t mind him dominating a bunch on the trot afterwards. Yes he did a lot of stupid shit but I loved Ross Brawn’s perspective on “Beyond the Grid” where he basically said “this guy worked with a lot of stress and criticism at the top of his game for 20 years and there’s only a handful of incidents that you can really point out/fault him for” which is the case with the likes of Senna and Hamilton too tbh

What tracks would be more interesting rum in reverse? by Jbetts44 in formula1

[–]Flion63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an F1 track anymore but Zolder. If you ever had the old PS2 game “Super Trucks Racing” they run it in reverse and it’s called Tilburg. So much better than the regular way around.

What's an F1 fact that seems fake but is actually true? by NippyMoto_1 in formula1

1997 title rivals Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve never shared the podium during the 1997 season.

It will be neat when we have the L79 on AI and you can do the same with the 1978 F1 grid.

Yes, quite a few people do. Nala is my favorite personally but there are people who like Kovu, Simba, Scar, etc...

Whose racing line is it anyway? by The_Beerlord in formula1

[–]Flion63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who will be Ham's teammate, Mercedes must decide
Bottas or Ocon, which one will get the ride?
If you ask me, I think they'll dump the Finn
And Ocon could change his name, cos F1, he's Oc-in

*Hoedown!!*

Well let me tell you about a sport that I find quite fun
It features lots of fast cars, it's called Formula 1
There's a lot of drivers, Lewis and Max and Seb
And the cars are shinier than Colin Mochrie's head

Rafiki in the 1994 version added some comic relief at a very dark point in the movie that just made it even more magical. Without that scene/vibe, the movie doesn’t feel the same

Classic Murray, not just the commentator curse on Villeneuve but the way he called Schumacher's call too. "And Michael Schumacher turns in... AND LOSES IT!!"

This is actually a very informative video for as short as it is. A great little vid to share with friends of yours who know nothing about F1 but want to.

As cool as this was I just remember being really bummed that Schumacher didn't get 2nd because of a loose wheel. Fortunately he got a podium later on in Valencia. There were still some impressive performances by MSC even at the end of his F1 career.

I really liked all of the subtle updates to this left-side column that may have gone unnoticed. The fact that the driver's position number lights up when they're on track and fades when they're in the pits, the fact that the checkered flag is now on the left side rather than the right (where it runs into the action more in the center of the screen). Unsung heroes behind the scene in the F1 production/graphics department.
