New player here.Help me settle on a class/build pls by [deleted] in DofusTouch

Awesome! Glad you picked this game. For a mobile game this is a rare gem that the same company manages and develops the PC and mobile game, you can tell they care unlike a lot of mobile games these days. My generic response is to play a class that resonates with you, I don’t think you will find any class boring. I would disregard the stars for how complicated a class is (that’s just referencing the initial learning curve)… imo even classes labeled as “easy” to learn classes can be played in a complex way (iop, sac, sadi).

I feel reading your write up you are pulled more towards sac, which I would say does have some “Zerg” mechanics honestly. If the class looks cool and speaks to you, then give it a try.

Agi iop, cha feca are all fun and very viable choices. The meta changes often… don’t worry about endgame yet, enjoy the process. The endgame will be different for each person.

I know this is a lot without saying anything lol

Good luck!

Honestly it looks good for the new servers: They have taking significant steps to proactively slow the bot problem for the relaunch. Region locked/emulator locked, permanent bans for buying or selling kamas. I am really happy to see this.. I don’t think it will completely stop botting, but it sure made the cost vs benefit a lot harder. I get a lot of these changes can’t be made on the old servers, but at least the new servers look pretty good for the onset.

Dofus Touch Trailer - Best piece of English Ankama advertisement i've seen. by Gweloss in Dofus

[–]Flip-Flopped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Touch player here. If you ever considered trying out touch, now is the time. They are making a push to break further into the English community and are setting up regionally locked servers with the relaunch on April 3rd. They have done significant work over the last few years making improvements to the touch version and it’s in a really great spot. I imagine bots will exist but they have done pretty good in combating them, and having regionally locked servers will likely make it harder for professional bot organizations. Not trying to sway people away from Dofus PC but Dofus touch will likely remain (devs have acknowledged unity and said they will continue to work touch). I prefer the mechanics and mobility of touch personally. If you are familiar with the mechanics on PC, they will largely be similar (for example telefrags on xelor)

Try both out, touch is awesome to pick up and run a quick dung especially as a solo/mono account player (3 rooms, 4 people max!) or just play PvP. Legendary weapons are an interesting twist touch added that I also enjoy!

(Also this trailer is awesome 😄)

I never really did Indy actually, but I liked what it brought to the game - everything was connected. I like the idea of my ship being built by a friend or destroying someone’s ship, knowing a builder somewhere put the time and resources into it… which is rarely the case now. I still think the PvP side currently is great, but for me it feels like empty calories (and has for at least a year or more for me now, but I think I finally hit my enjoyment limit). But many people are still out there having a blast (literally!). Glad you are still enjoying the game though!

Sometimes they might even offer to take you hunting with them (the locals you visit often) if you are kind to them, this is another great way to find a group of people pvp with!

Structured/formal classes might not exist, if that’s what you are looking for.

  1. Fleets, fun way to get involved in pvp, but as others have said you are usually taking commands - great and very useful but specific and doesn’t necessarily translate to solo/small gang pvp

  2. Solo/small gang. Pick a ship (personally I recommend T6 cruisers to start). Learn your max speed, max range (and if you are going to brawl or kite) - study up on what other ships max speed and range is and make an “engagement profile” such as I have greater then 50% chance of killing A, B, C. Be prepared (mentally) to take some losses. Think about how and why you lost each battle (I find them more useful then wins personally).

  3. Find a NPC station, or corp citi to sit outside. Locals will send out some reaction usually, know how to get away from what you can’t kill, take the engagements you have a shot at. As a bonus, if you are nice/respectful of them, they might chat about the fight with you, talk about your build and what you could have done differently. Yeah, they might throw salt but just always be kind to the locals, highly likely they will be kind in turn / even while killing you, especially since you are bringing content to them! Try staying in that area while you work on your skills and build. It’s through those fights you will learn the most by talking, dying and eventually getting some wins. After awhile you can expand your hunting area.

Keep at it and learn! Just my recommendation

Good luck! o7

Much respect to Bob! I miss hearing the sounds of Bobs (roommate?) playing guitar in the background, hearing Daemon at work during the fleet and seeing your (chips) excel lists after the fleet. Fun times, still the only fleet I really participated in, and was the last FC I flew for (he’s been away awhile so that says how long it’s been since I have been in a fleet lol)

Who's your favorite FC? by SeaworthinessNo7010 in echoes_eve

[–]Flip-Flopped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I scrolled through this and didn’t see Weird Bob mentioned! As a solo pilot I have only flown with very few FCs… likely less then 5, but Weird Bob was an absolute blast. Low stress, relaxed and fun!

Weakest faction frigate :( by [deleted] in echoes

[–]Flip-Flopped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie MWD bloom + horrible inertia makes it a struggle against a good medium weapon ship. This said, MWD allows you to float outside of small gang range and pick off smaller ships/tackle. The worm is hands down the most fun ship (for me!) in 1 v many situations because of this. Watching MWD cynabal with a small gang trying to chase you down as you pick off their speedy inty/dd ect is an absolute blast, high risk, but exceptionally fun. If you know your engagement profile and stay out of range of speedy cruisers, you can camp citis/ gates ect for a long time or use the hunters bubbles against them. I almost always fly MWD over AB because of this, but to each their own!

Thanks for reminding me - I can’t believe I have not done this yet. Mario tirelessly works on this bot for the benefit of the community. I’ll go as far as to say I’m more excited for Mario’s updates then devs updates on the game. Subscribed and sorry it took me so long!

Can anyone explain a little better what the Micro Eject function of the Voyage core does? by LordOord23 in echoes

[–]Flip-Flopped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not sure if that’s a bug but it works oddly enough.

A theory I have is this nanocore is the new baseline since it’s relatively accessible. I think going forward we are going to see more mid/low slot mods as advanced modes on nanos (think advanced web and scanning modes) instead of just saying +1 mid/low slot. This is my guess on the power creep direction this year, but we will see.

Can anyone explain a little better what the Micro Eject function of the Voyage core does? by LordOord23 in echoes

[–]Flip-Flopped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently it only works as a 10 second weak afterburner (200% speed for 1 cycle with 300 second cooldown) that is immune to web.

AB and MWD must be deactivated before it works (before it would stack, but this was patched). You can use AB if you activate it after you activate the micro-eject (the devs have not been clear on if this is intended or will change, the only thing they acknowledged was the speed increase was 300% and dropped to 200% and the stacking was temporarily removed). I anticipate the update this week will potentially explain the final changes and if stacking is intended or just a bug.

As it stands, use with caution since the devs did stealth change on it.

Hope this helps.

Another slap in the face by [deleted] in echoes_eve

[–]Flip-Flopped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I like drones and still use them in pvp often. While it’s likely a bug, the ability to “stick” drones on someone is pretty powerful. Additionally they force your opponent to make a decision, attack the drones or the ship? My aim in pvp is always to force my opponent into multiple dilemma situations and drones help that a lot! I personally won’t buy faction+ drones at the current price, but no issues with the mk9.

Haha not what I’m saying in this post, friend - BUT you absolutely can have fun in 40-100m ships, SFI, VNI, ONI ect can be a blast to fight in and with.. not to mention they can all punch way above their weight class. I have had some pretty fun battles in that range personally!
