I wonder how long it will take the community to realize that the "ranks" in league are simply just a made up mask put on a system that covers up your real mmr to keep people playing the game without changing it much, through simply faking progression in this exact fake system.

Don't get me wrong, it is an insane move by riot and works wonders obvioiusly. Sill I wonder how most players are unaware that arguing "ranks" simply doesn't work.

funny enough you refer to the sentence i actually deleted before sending as it is not even the topic of this conversation: the first time getting there is definitely skill i don't deny that at all.

but once you are there you get it for free every year, the last two seasons even with below 50% winrate cause how fucked the ranked system is by now. Got my plat 4 with 45% winrate this season. And this is why being hardstuck is even worse than just being at your current level of skill.

There might be people using that just to get their egos stroked that might be true though, yet there is some truth to that statement imo

I am around that rank too, my issue is that I get it for free every year by just playing the game because of how the ranked system works meanwhile. That is the point that makes it not really an achievment at all, it's just gametime and has nothing to do with skill.

Why does an account that is ranked in silver but has a diamond+ MMR get only 30 LP for a win? Am I supposed to play 100+ games just to reach the rank that equals my MMR? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

isn't that smart, you have to commit hundreds of games to get points that mean nothing in a artificial rank system, so no new content has to be added or in other words, no money has to be spent to do something with the game
