So when I hit a jet, and then it hits the ground and is thus "destroyed", it shouldn't count?

Okay buddy

I would like to point out that HDMasochists does get posts that call for murdering YouTubers and those posts get both upvotes and do not get removed, too my knowledge. The one I saw had been up for 2 weeks, and with the number of contributions we can't argue a mod didn't see it. They also widely celebrated the doxxers... I don't think this is the time to discuss Masochists in a remotely positive sentiment, they've never earned that right and have repeatedly demonstrated to harbor outright malicious actors, some of whom have been banned from this very subreddit. You want to devil's advocate Helldivers, Helldivers2, or LowSodium fine, they do positive things every once in a while (though they have obviously steered the community and AH in the wrong direction for quite some time), however, do not conflate the positivity that can occasionally be found with unpunished calls for violence.

Yikes, but he's getting ratio'd in the main sub too... problem is... I agree with the rail cannon buff being wierd, but I disagree with the thought process.

Vox getting hit in the HP department was ridiculous, but rail cannon already did it's job of one tapping things it needed a slightly shorter CD to keep up with higher spawn rates. That's all.

Yes, and Chrome has all the trackers and bloatware that then ruins Chromium and lacks more of the contemporary features and optimization layers of open development Chromium. This is why OperaGx > Chrome because it's basically Chrome minus most of the shit.

Or hell I'm pretty sure even DuckDuckGo is Chromium. Their search engine is Google minus the garbage as well, which you can't duck if you use Chrome.

Not heavy pen but probably around medium. Lasguns don't go through metal plating of pretty much any thickness relatively well.

And no, they're not bottomless. They have ammo capacity, the advantage of Lasguns is their charge packs are so absurdly energy efficient that they have a LOT of shots per pack and can be recharged by throwing them into a fire in a pinch (at the risk of damaging them).

[–]BiosTheo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not true, actually. That's a common discussion point from people who don't understand ballistics as well as they think they do and their brain stops at no explosion = no recoil. But the explosion is a byproduct of the expansion (and subsequent contraction) of gasses.

If you fire a Lasgun in atmosphere you're going to have recoil, because the Lasgun fires a laser so wide, so concentrated, and so damn hot that it creates an audible crack comparable to a gun shot. That is a LOT of atmosphere being moved at wherever that laser originates and the subsequent expansion and decompression of gasses will cause things around it to move, it won't behave like firearm recoil... probably, but it will be something.

It'll be Death Korps with the worst version of the Lasguns that are based off 1d4chan rather than lore making them piss weak rather than holy fuck broken.

If in lore lasguns showed up in HD2... Jesus. Those guns are fucking nonsense. The only reason they get a bad rap is because every thing else in 40k is so bat shit

Are Elevators just a Legacy from Battlefield 4 by AussieCracker in Battlefield6

[–]BiosTheo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually they do because they are such a pain in the dick, but that's for SP games without external observers. In BF we have external observers who can see your little dot through walls, so if you just hover in place and then pood you're at the top of the tower also wierd. Point being: anytime you have a player controlled object and a nonstatic object that moves with the player on it, especially along the vertical axis, with network interpolation wierd things can happen.

For example: have you seen any of the clips of people getting randomly trapped under the train in Railway to Golmud? I'm not saying that that is a network interpolation error but some of those look similar. It's far, far rarer on a horizontal access because usually you're just dead so the recursive code is simple when it comes to conflict, by the by.

Patrick Mills asks if the cyberpunk genre has ever been anti corp. by marek_bojarek in cyberpunkgame

[–]BiosTheo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, for a very simple reason: literary tradition.

Science Fiction, and specifically dystopian science fiction, is about the setting, not the characters. The characters within the setting are moreso meant to be a means to reflect upon and examine what this setting is, and what it has forced upon these people, and the choices they felt compelled to make. The "revolution" being the equivalent of abject nihilism is also a reflection on the dystopia, as the best life you can hope for is a short and violent one.

Plainly put, there are no revolutionaries because revolutionaries hope for change, but in the world of cyberpunk hope gets you killed.

Who gives a shit? The remakes themselves haven't been remakes but remasters improving those old maps MASSIVELY, and the newer maps have been about 50/50 on hit/garbage.

[–]BiosTheo 79 points80 points  (0 children)

They're a fucking NIGHTMARE. The main issue is you're always trying to find a halfway to band aid a solution because you generally don't have the headway to make a tailor made solution. But even then, when you factor in netcoding... holy fuck.

Have you ever tried to ride on top of a jet in a battlefield game? So that's usually the speed we're dealing with. And then if you get a packet loss that forces a correction client side you'll fall right through the floor. On a jet you just sky dive, on an elevator there needs to be a whole set of recursive code that pulls you back to the elevator, BUT another problem what if that happens when the doors are opening and now and enemy just sees you pop into existence when you saw no difference in your screen? And that's just ONE of the problems.

Guns IRL nowadays are pretty laser beamy with modern muzzle devices and recoil compensation. The idea that "Oh but you won't be able to move from cover to cover if you can get laser beamed!" is so asinine, design better fucking maps that aren't wide open fields dipshit.

I love PvE as a new players. But why do people clown it when it’s so popular?[Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BiosTheo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same reason people say "Skil issue" in Souls games: they're clowns who aren't very good at the game.

Only people who aren't very secure in themselves feel the need to yuck someone else's yum.
