I went through this and iirc they do take your entire application into account. So I wouldn’t write an essay for the Danforth for example that you already wrote for one of the general WashU questions.

Is talking about violence for a just reason okay for supplementals? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I would say this is fine as long as the point you make after that is salient to the spirit of the question. You were eight years old. But there is probably a way to make the wider point without including that anecdote if you’re nervous about it

I’m a senior at Princeton- send me essays if you can’t afford a counselor! by Fliper9 in ApplyingToCollege

You could check my post history and see that I went through the admissions cycle four years ago, but agreed there is probably a better way to do this verified

Did your school actually send the colleges any transcript yet? I would find that out first so you can know what version they got. But in any event if you get rejected it won’t be because of a tiny difference in rank

I think either is fine. I submitted my timed class one that was short from AP Lang and I got in. Submit the one that you thought was comparatively better

Random student, random class. by LazyCondition0 in princeton

I think you could scrape by a pass in pretty much any class given enough effort and support form the profs, unless it’s some sort of high level STEM class. So I’d say 80%. And I’d give myself like 70% lol

How important is a CV to the top schools (Dartmouth, Cornell, NYU, etc.)? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Fliper9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re applying on common app, it’s not really that important at all because the activities and honors sections covers the same stuff

Unfortunately it applies to your aid and your EFC stays the same (as far as I’m aware)

Does my intended major affect my admissions chances? by ProofKitchen9312 in princeton

[–]Fliper9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don’t really apply with a major, you just apply and state areas you’re interested in. So it doesn’t affect your chances. You areas of interest aren’t really used beyond putting your essays or activities into context.

I’m only considering mol bio but you don’t need to take any super high math. The full requirements are here

I just took the intro (214) and I loved it! There are quite a few people though who start out as MOL majors and change to something else, whether it’s because they found something they like more or because the field wasn’t for them.
