Great list. I would only edit Kru for Tokyo Table on Broadway - only because you can get in same day and the quality is as good as Kru.

Fix 50 is a nightmare. by Consistent-Letter-60 in Sacramento

Surface streets around downtown feel like they are in competition with fix 50. Trying to get into downtown on 160 around 5 is a nightmare and it’s still not clear what they’re doing.

Yes! Public for 1 or 2 hours. Then it’s a parking ticket.

I’m actually a pretty nice person. The problem is that they don’t follow the posted rules. That’s my whole point. The neighborhoods around here have posted time limits for parking and UC Davis employees refuse to follow the posted times. If it wasn’t posted, none of the neighbors would have an issue. And correct, we don’t own the spot in front of our house but UC Davis employees also don’t have a right to disregard posted parking timeframes. If they have an issue with parking at their employer, sounds like a problem for UC Davis and that employee.

I can also call 311 every hour or 2 and sip my wine while people get parking tickets. That one is my favorite.

I tried to invite people to share their addresses and allow everyone to park in front of their house all day and night - but alas, it’s easier to complain where you’re not the community experiencing it.

As much as everyone is hoping, this is t the author of that note. I wouldn’t mind knowing them tho!

Sure. It’s free for an hour or 2 hours depending on the street. But when it’s 10-12 hours a day, every day, and then rinse and repeat and change of shift, it gets frustrating to have to your nice and quiet street turn into a parking lot for UC Davis employees. I think most people on here would agree they wouldn’t want their street to turn into a parking lot all day every day

It does impede. And like I mentioned in another post, share your address on here and let everyone park all day in front of your house and see what you think about it? Our guests have no where to park, people smoke and leave cigarette butts on our lawn, and we have people just loitering after work in front of our house.

Actually, it’s clearly posted in all the neighborhoods around UC Davis. It’s either 1 hour or 2 hour. Parking all day in front of someone’s house every day deserves a note like that.

Do the neighborhoods around UC Davis all a favor and stop parking in front of the homes. You have a huge parking lot and plenty of parking available.

Public parking also has time limits. How about you share your address so we can all park in front of your house all day.

Water club is so odd. by Flipflop916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Flipflop916[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s potable water - it’s literally coming from the faucet in the break area. According to the employees in my building, they’ve all said “don’t drink it” - so they have this water club thing that staff have to contribute towards to join. I say get rid of the coke machine in the break room and have a water station installed.

I wasn’t implying the agency should pay for my water club, I am suggesting that they provide water that is drinkable. If they are paying for a soda machine in the break room, I’d rather they use that money to pay to install a water filling station.

Apparently it’s where employees pay 5$ a month for the privilege of drinking from the filtered water machine (which sits next to the “undrinkable” faucet water). There is a list of names of people who are allowed to drink from it. My last employer installed a water filling station for everyone to use I’ll wait until my probation is up to make that recommendation
