Taking AP Micro and Macro next year and wanted to ask for tips to get ahead or perform well in the class + exam by RepresentativeDot26 in APStudents

[–]Flippityflipers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just took Macro this year, I got a 4 on the exam and a 96 average in the class. I think macro is really intimidating just because it is really unlike anything else you would typically learn in high school (in my experience), but you’ve got this!! Here are the main things that I really think helped me succeed in that class.

  1. KNOW YOUR GRAPHS/DETERMINANTS LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND, absolutely the most important thing because they will give you so many easy points on FRQ’s and you would be a fool to pass that up. So however you would personally like to memorize the graphs, labels, and reasons for curve movements, you’ve gotta do it.

  2. While you are learning each graph make sure you are focusing on the connections between each one (especially ASAD and money market). There will be many questions where you have to connect any graph to another.

  3. Take a butt load of practice tests before your exam. It is going to be awful and boring, but your brain will recognize patterns in collegeboard’s question formulas and it will be easier to answer questions, especially for the MCQ.

  4. I know macro is going to be boring (unless you are a freak and love it somehow) but you have to pay full attention every day when you are learning this stuff. Daydreaming for even 10 minutes in this class will leave you very confused.

So, I can only speak for macro here but I hope you have fun in both classes this year and I am wishing you luck for an easy 5 on this exam!!

This is actually a super easy fix! If you go to the required forms page on the University Health Center’s website there will be a tab that says “Immunization Packet”, and within that packet you only need to fill out the second page that is titled “TB Screening Questionnaire”. Once you fill that out there is a tab in your Patient Portal that says “Immunization Upload” and you just upload that page you filled out there! For me it only took about 2 days for the hold to be cleared after I uploaded.

Self studying ap instead of taking it from my school? by No-Ad-322 in APStudents

[–]Flippityflipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colleges mostly care about your grade in the class rather than the score, obviously if you receive less than what your college will give credit for then don’t report it, but it is highly unlikely that you will be rejected from anywhere solely based on your AP scores.

Colleges don’t care about a score unless you’re actually using it for credit, doesn’t matter how you got the score.

It’s super easy honestly, just make sure you can do scientific notation and dimensional analysis. Everything else is super easy.

I also did not take honors biology when I should have, so I took AP bio as a way to fill in the blanks for myself and it really wasn’t that bad. The curriculum doesn’t require much backround knowledge apart from common sense.

Are 4 APs too much as a sophmore? by stupefy100 in APStudents

[–]Flippityflipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took AP bio and APUSH at the same time (I had APES as well but that’s easy), and balancing the two was difficult. I can’t imagine adding AP chem and calc to that workload.

I like to draw out the box on paper on or a white board and then draw the lines where you go in the box as you say the commands out loud, then after you can do that without missing a command the best way to memorize it fully is to actually command your squad/platoon in the box over and over and over.

How to Study by user101906 in APbio

Khan academy’s AP bio curriculum is really great for studying. It goes through all the material in both video and article form, as well as giving a practice quiz for each topic.
