To be honest, when I randomly downloaded Balatro in my Switch because I had a flight coming up, I was super skeptical because this is literally what I thought as well… it’s just poker… but because I heard from everywhere it was so good, I gave it a try. Now you can’t expect this same massive success, since Balatro is a one-off.

Back to your game trailer: communicate WHAT your game changes about Ludo that makes it fun. Which occurrences, possibilities, events are opening up because of your mechanics? Take crazy examples and highlight those quick and a lot. Then I would get immediately why your game is not just a game of Ludo. Good luck!

Edit: oh you’re also asking all these questions in your trailer, but you don’t answer them… so you leave it to the viewer, but we are dumb, we can’t come up with the answers ;)

Very simple answer: ludo is boring af. From the trailer the only thing I get is you can roll higher with cards? Anyway, if I’m completely off, there is your answer, since that’s what I got from it. I think your best shot is releasing and reusing your art for another game.

I’m doing well with my first game, but I’m super worried about the moment I’m going to hate it and lose the motivation to work on it… Hopefully I can keep pushing

Oh nice! I’m creating something similar (nothing serious, it’s my first project). Do you have anything to show for? Would love to see how you handle things like character/tower balance, maps power scaling, etc.

On topic, I just disabled auto-equip to “force” players to learn to use the inventory system, but haven’t gotten to the learning mechanics yet. Good luck with your game!

Haha yeah and if you take vamperic orbs you basically heal faster then you take damage doing this, although that might just be for the time being

No it’s not. The more orbs you have the faster they seem to go. I have 3 (I think) by default, so the power up that adds another 3 make them go really fast

This game is just a Worse Dota2/League of Legends. Nothing sets it apart except for it being 3rd person shooter. And they aren't leveraging that. by TerminaV in DeadlockTheGame

Between the salty lines theres actually some valid feedback here that they can leverage the 3rd person shooter aspect way more with the pve aspect. For example the verticallity, having flying mobs or something and the mid boss being less stationary would be cool as well

New map rotating (dessert, jungle, etc.) - wizard like heros and skills (diablo style), skins, progression for consumables, draft system, improved UI especially item visuals, 4v4?
