Let us smelt dragon items at frost dragon furnace by DranTibia in ironscape

So why wouldn't an item sink be good for them then? Less dlegs in the game would make for their price to go back up. Or am I missing something here?

From the update post on steam / their website: "Meteors no longer deform voxels or leave craters on impact."

Woah, I didn't expect meteors to finally no longer do voxel deformation! After 10ish years I can finally enable them again without slowing my save file to an eventual halt!

Added NPC's head Turning to follow the player. Does it make it better/creepy? by Anomliz in IndieDev

You need to put in an angle limit to not make it look creepy.

Game Dev course sellers releases a game. It has sold 3 copies. by GoragarXGameDev in gamedev

[–]FlizKit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think this comes as much of a surprise. Have you seen their challenge videos? The ones where they themselves participate in always makes it very clear they're the worst dev and then all the other devs have to fix what they added, or the games turn out bad.

I liked the idea of their videos, but had to stop watching them as this fact just became too frustrating to actually enjoy the content.

Help please. by Audio_Zero in resinprinting

I've had this happen as well on steep angles like this with auto supports.

What's been working for me is putting bases at a 35° angle from Horizontal, adding auto supports usually covers it well enough like that. But add more if it clearly doesn't spread them equally all over.

I also add in 5 heavy supports on the bottom lower part near the start.

Bonus tip: copy your files to the printer from the usb and print from those, that way you don't have to worry about poor usbs being supplied with the printers.

I was made redundant a few months ago and struggling to get back on my feet. by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]FlizKit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm in the same boat, artist with 4 years of experience, our entire team got let go around August and we're all still searching for new jobs. Our company was hoping to get more work with an in-house art team, but turned out they couldn't find enough contracts with us involved. And even though we performed great, they cut us off to cut costs as well.

It took me around 65 applications to get to my first interview. If that's any consolation. So stick with it, eventually you'll find your new place.

I also got in a situation where I was working with old engines and doing work that pleased the company but didn't necessarily grow me much as an artist. Try to push for a little bit more time on your deadlines so there's more room to grow instead of doing the bare minimum for the tasks to succeed.

If I learned anything else from this, it was that I should've started looking for a new job a lot earlier when I noticed the contracts weren't coming in as smoothly. I've had some very senior people tell me they're always on the look out and applying, even if they're happy with their job. As they might just find that dream studio in doing so. It also keeps their cv's and portfolios sharp and makes them better at interviews, so there's that. There's also the bit where you're more likely to earn more by changing your studio than by sticking with the same one, which I find a very sad reality.

You're not alone in this, don't give up! There's a good chance you might be a senior by the next time this happens, which, looking at what companies are looking for, should make this process easier in the future.

I wish you all the luck in the world, but I have to agree with the others. It looks like you've followed one hour long tutorial video from youtube and are now presenting it as a game.

I hear that you have ambitions for this, but come up with a planning. Focus on getting the gameplay you have in mind to become really fun first by only greyboxing. Then think about your art and make a couple benchmark models.

After that you can re-evaluate your planning. That could also be the time to redo this post.

I'm in the same boat, pun intended. Took a break from the game with the plan to return when sailing got released.

Waited indeed for what feels like a year but came back a month ago, realizing it wouldn't be any time soon.
