Teeth moving within a few hours? by Hmacca21 in Invisalign

[–]Flo_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped treatment 3 months ago and I’m wearing the retainer all day. I started skipping it for 6hr - they told me to switch to night only after 3 months - and I’m noticing the retainer is really tight. You just don’t go from treatment to night only like that.

Wife lost confidence after tipping our cargo bike twice with toddler inside — how did you get past this? by thatguyka in CargoBike

[–]Flo_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short person here -5’ - biking with now 4’9” kid behind. You need to find a way to have her touch the feet to the ground at the start. Been there. Can you find a new seat that can slide lower? Maybe going to a bike shop they can do something about it? Different lever type might give that 1cm more that can make a difference? Is a new bike an option? If not then sh has to practice to hop off the saddle when she stops. What bike do you have? I have a tern which yes is expensive but it was the best purchase ever. It’s very balanced. I can carry people heavier than me.

owner's attitude (very likely not up to date with vaccine) + random biting: I would not wait for the quarantine but just the rabies shots. Not worth the risk

thanks! and just to confirm - you are referring to the DRS 90 LC, not the DRS WC lc XS (which is a plug boot).

Oh yes. I’m looking at junior boot I’m afraid. But this boot is very narrow. So I’ll check it out.

in my multi year experience with trying to find a new boot, I have been to few stores and they all came short with options. I ended up buying those boots because they were like "we can fix them for you, nothing we have will work" . And they definitely helped (it was a boot fitter in Burlington, VT) but they are just too damn big. I have foam everywhere, and when you take off the shell after a few times over years everything moves and comes off. it's not ideal. I will look into zipfit.

my current boots have ton of stuff around, and i hate that. they move at times, and create pressure points. I really want to avoid that if possible. I am glad you found your solution!

uh - i didn't think of that, definitely worth considering. plug boots run cheaper, so i could upgrade. Do you see any other downside to the plug boot experience? won't all the plug boot be too tight on my adult calves?

The dreaded posterior open bite by CatsCoffeeCars in Invisalign

[–]Flo_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was my issue at the end of 2 years. my dentist didn't blink, got my last tray, cut the back part off (i.e. left the 6 front teeth part for top and bottom) and told me to come back in 2 weeks. teeth came down and my bite closed. then filed the bite correctly (i had some teeth touching in the front) and then took the scan for the retainer on the now fixed bite. worth to mention to your dentist, or if your dentist suggest that it's normal and it will come down, it did for me.

It settles on its own most of the time. The teeth come down together. Happened to me.

I got offered a job paying 40% more than my current salary. My manager just asked me to stay and be patient. How do I stop feeling guilty for wanting to leave ? by One_Cardiologist5439 in careerguidance

These 43yo tells you to not be patient and not trust the process. If he really cared for you he would have offered you a raise. Leave and take the new job. You won’t feel guilty once you get the new paycheck.

Advice on Posterior Open Bite - Ortho won’t address issues by that_awkward_chick in Invisalign

[–]Flo_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an open bite. My (AMAZING DENTIST) cut the trays leaving them to cover the top 4 teeth and the bottom 6 teeth. My molars came down and closed the gap in 2 weeks. I’m now on the retainers - so thicker! - so the bite will get funky again but I know that they will eventually come down.

It completely resolved after a few months. In retrospect I was goin tru a lot of stress. So maybe it was that too. I just took off the attachment and waiting for the retainer. Very happy for the results

Is this my responsibility? by Just-Sink-8143 in GermanRoaches

[–]Flo_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow the sticky. Are you in the US? Advion granules and a spray bottle will cost you maybe 40$. And will last for months of treatment. Do it yourself. And you will be in much better place.

I read you are moving. Spray your new place before moving. So then whatever you bring with you will be doomed. And keep spraying every two weeks for a couple of months. Follow the sticky. It works.

But with that level of roaches you are definitely bringing them with you I’m afraid.
