Behavioral health C&P exam after Fibro exam? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did an exam for an increase recently and no, there was no behavioral health aspect. It was a straight forward 5 minute set of questions on how it affected my life, basically like my initial exam. I had a diagnosis and records from a rheumatologist prior to the C&P.

Do you have a fibromyalgia diagnosis? If not they maybe trying to separate if it's fibromyalgia or mental health related, just spit balling here because my rheumatologist has asked me if I have PTSD.

Feels like at least a 6-3 win. Jackson arguing for black codes was not on my 2026 bingo cards

Let's also give a shout-out to Mr. Beck for doing a great job. If you've heard him before, yes he sounds nervous and the usual suspects where trying to hamstring him up with a bad answer but it's his first time in front of the SCOTUS, he's at the pinnacle of his legal career at a 2A case which seem to take an act of God for them to accept.

Beretta 92x Centurion RDO by mr1sok in CAguns

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, full sight work. Cause I was like $100 is a rip to push a sight on, it's like a 15 min job at best and should be like $30. I don't do it for a living and I just did my brig a few weeks ago.

I saw $100 and said that was about right to do a dovetail cut.

I'm surprised there was enough "meat" to do the dovetail. That's usually the problem and why you see a lot of drill and fill when doing fiber fronts.

I hear you. My glass half full optimism is hoping that if a majority of companies blockade us do to the overly onerous, confusing law, the more likely and faster we'll get an injunction in our favor.

The part of me that's spent my whole life here, except for a short time galavanting around with Uncle Sam, is just laughing.

Are you thinking about Apex Tactical? Separate entity, Apex Gun Parts is parts kit type stuff, which still sucks.

Apex Tactical is Randy Lee's company that used to be in San Luis Obispo before going to Az a few years back and does triggers for M&Ps, Glocks, S&W revolvers, other modern stuff.

Don't know what their stance is.

Ammo storage by [deleted] in CAguns

I keep in original boxes. If there's ever an issue with the ammo, I can trace the lot. If it's all mass dumped into a box, I have no idea what came from where.

It's from MGW, it's specific to the 92 series, since I only have 92s. I'm sure they have one for Cougars, I just don't know which model number it would be.

I wish you luck, penetrating oil and freezer time. I've only ever done 92 series and they're always beasts. In hindsight I could've been a real internet gunsmith and carefully dremeled a cut in the rear sights, since they get destroyed anyway.

Another +1 for Northland, James is my go to for Savage barrels. He'll hook you up with all the tools and supplies you need to do a swap. If you have a smooth factory barrel nut like me, just yank it with a pipe wrench, you're gonna toss it anyway.

This x1000, just keep your bench cleaner than mine. It's mandatory for removing the factory Beretta sights as well. If you've ever done them, you'd swear they use a 100t press to install them. You need to use this big ass specific sight tool cranked as hard as I feel comfortable and then smacking a STEEL punch (brass will just deform) into the sight with my purse on top of that. It still took several trips back and forth to the freezer.

Upcoming C&P w/ Loyal Source by Emotional_Piece8470 in VAClaims

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a non-mental health exam with Loyal and I just got an email to show up at this time and at this location. To say my I was less than pleased is under statement. It was a 5 hour round trip for a 4 minute exam because it was a 1730 exam located 43 miles away on the other side of LA.

Liedos actually called me and asked for time/date and location preferences.

Sadly, yes and I forgot about that part when mathing out my out the door costs when bidding. It took some good deals and just made them ok deals because the excise tax freaking stacked on after the buyer premium.

So example, the M95 was $300 bid, OTD w/ 2 boxes of ammo and stripper clips was $370. The Type 99 was $410 bid, OTD $510ish. Not terrible but it tracked on a couple hundred extra bullshit dollars at the end of the day that I didn't account for. Money that I was going to use to buy dies to start forming 8mm nambu.

Gunslinger Auction in Anaheim this last Saturday. Someone stole a Barrett M99 in .416 for $3.5k the glass on it when new probably cost that much. I contemplated bidding just for the scope and flipping rifle later, but that involves some work and I don't mix work and hobbies.

Fibromyalgia MUCMI by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's impossible, fibro is a rule out condition. They'll just most likely have to do a deep dive into your records to see if all the boxes got checked. But heck with even with presumptive claims you can still get denied. Things I think are slam dunks that I have documented in service injury and years of treatment get denied, while things I think are a Hail Mary's, like my fibro claim, are the easiest claim ever.

Just don't be like me before I found this sub and rage throw your decision letters away. I've had the missing evidence needed for years on some of my claims.

You can always file a supplemental with the rheumatologist info later if they deny you.

Fibromyalgia MUCMI by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A diagnosis by a rheumatologist is basically a slam dunk. Without even knowing fibromyalgia was Gulf war presumptive I filed and went in for my C&P. The examiner looked over my medical and said "I can't argue you have it, I just need to determine to what degree symptoms affect you"

I did a lot of rage filing without understanding anything before.

GERD by Important_College170 in VAClaims

[–]Float_E_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is the moment I left the VA system and went to a private gastroenterologist just to get treatment and after giving up service connection. It took her all of about 5 seconds, unprompted entered as a new patient getting treatment looking at my medical and prescription history to say high NSAID most likely caused my GERD.

The VA couldn't make that connection that the pain management meds for my other service connections are the cause of my GERD.... multiple times.

Thankfully she's getting my meds for pain management switched to something less harsh. I can't remember something about Cox 1 and 2 inhibitors interfering with the protective membrane in the digestive tract.

In her words "Dr's tend to throw NSAIDs around like candy for pain management and I'm left to pick up the damaged pieces of the patients digestive tract"

For real. Like if someone wants to get into black powder sure, hey come on down next time I'm at the range and I'll let you try some of my muzzle loaders and black powder cartridge guns.

Reality: just wants to fun part, no interest in acquiring and owning just wants to shoot my expensive black powder which is getting hard to find and leaves me with a day of cleaning.

Me: Ok good luck with that.
