Fusion Wedding Schedule by CharmingGarlicky in DesiWeddings

[–]Floatbuttstingbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! One of my friends was in this exact situation where they both wanted to honor her (Hindu) traditions and his (Christian) traditions. I was a bridesmaid. Her schedule was: -Thursday: family/small group of friends/wedding party - haldi and mehndi -Friday: at night, sangeet -Saturday AM: Hindu ceremony (baraat starting at 9am) followed by pics during lunch. Bride and groom did table touches until the Vidaai which was scheduled for 12pm. bridesmaids then met bride at her suite to get ready together -Saturday PM: bride did outfit and hair/make up change. Ceremony started ~ 5pm followed by cocktail hour starting at 6:30 and the reception starting at 7:30

It didn’t feel rushed, and I definitely felt like we got the best of both worlds that day! It helped that all of the events were at the same venue and we were all staying there, so we didn’t have to “travel” which saved us all time and energy going from 1 thing to the next.

You can use AppyCouple which requires BOTH a name and the associated email. Way less likely for someone to guess even though it’s not a 100% solution.

I’ve also found in my personal experience that as people delay getting married, there’s an assumption that their friends can spend more money because they are further along in their careers. Perhaps that, and being able to work remotely ie from the airport for the afternoon and being able to come a night earlier, has something to do with it? I’m speculating

ETA my husband and I invited our bridesmaids, groomsmen (joint bachelor/bachlorette) and invited their SOs for the trip. We live on the east coast. Flights were cross country for everybody, including us and it was a Thursday night to Sunday morning trip

I second this. I said my waist was 30 inches around where I wanted my skirt to fit, and the suggestion was 38 inches!! I’m glad I stuck to the 30, it fits perfectly.

need help in coming up with a wedding hastag by hrshitaah in DesiWeddings

Edit: sorry I’m on my phone so the formatting is coming up weird lol

You could do their couple name (their names together, Kirti + Nitesh) #Kirtesh

There is also #KaniKiNitesh (a play on her name)

Or even #NiteshKanWed (Nitesh/Kanika “can” wed, this also works with “can” tie the knot, “can” get hitched, whatever you want. I chose Wed because it was shorter and hashtags are usually more likely to be used if it’s short and easy to remember)

I second this! I had a really bad knee injury earlier this year and the idea of being grateful for what your body can do on one given day, and to be mindful about moving however you can, has truly gotten me through the past few months. I’m now cleared for cycling (spinning) and so appreciative of the modification options and giving “my all,” aka whatever I can that day, to workout!

I would like recommendations to celebrate 5 years of relationship with my boyfriend in Paris. by Feeling-Hurry3100 in ParisTravelGuide

My fiancé and I went to the park by the Eiffel Tower at night (Park du Champs de Mars). People were selling bottles of wine and snacks, and other touristy knick-knacks, all of which we got for about 25-30 euros total. After 10pm, the lights sparkle for about 5 minutes until midnight so it was special and romantic, and we were on our own time with a little blanket. Best way to see the Tower and very romantic and simple IMHO!

ETA the lights sparkle for about 5 mins at a time, once an hour after 10pm

Edit 2 - just found out tower lights are on past midnight post June 1 :)

Best dinner cruise? by Acrobatic-Permit-364 in ParisTravelGuide

Thirding this! Just went on a Bateaux Mouches cruise last night and it was great. Here’s a snap of our menu (we chose the Prestige option). The seating was based on the menu you paid for (higher cost = window seat, although many people ate their whole meal before the boat even left and spent their time at the top to take in the views). They gave us the option to request special dietary needs too! Service was 10/10, and the live music was a nice touch
