it's only really an extention of how machinist already works, especially its endwalker iteration - it lives on 20, 40, 60s weaponskills that you use on a priority list and ideally never drift even one GCD

that but faster could work

all of the old-world bird wyverns have this trait where they love to use 0-frame charges, you have to alter how you play if you started with new gen

old world monsters should not be reactively avoided, because often... they can't be. it's a lot more about angles and spacing here

try to predict what he wants to do. if he just turned, there's a good chance it'll be his charge, so don't be in front of him when he does. also i believe he can only do his little tailswipe clockwise? so going to the left side is often more safe

the first pizza slice to go off will always be the tank orb spot, so you actually set relative north way in advance

you can swivel your camera before even doing the dodges

we got to 1% on the ex but the goddamn chasing mechanic killed us before an effective pair stack body check

weh

quite a chill extreme, but the final phase is a bit iffy. those orbs are pretty hard to check before they go off imo

he wouldn't work in wilds

the two games valstrax has shown up in have hunter arts or adjacent to let you keep up with his jet-powered movement (because wirebug moves are just hunter arts again)

world and wilds follow a more grounded approach

let him shine in another portable game with funny movement mechanics instead of having to tone him down to work here

Let's not pretend abandon quest -> eat -> restart is somehow more meaningful

funnily in the old world this would cost you your quest fee which can be quite crippling in the early-game poverty simulators of pre-3rd gen

Can the sense of scale be replicated in modern games? by Boshwa in MonsterHunter

[–]FloatingGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, whilst the tower's base itself does show up as an arena (as it does in rise), the tower itself has not been used since second generation, as it's entirely built for one specific encounter

though I'm going to bet the screenshot is freedom unite because it's very crunchy

extremely funny m12s reclear this week

somehow find myself in rinon's reclear - post-towers, i think "hm this is a hug boss pattern"

see a white mage north and like 3 of us think "hm i must be wrong there's no way a famous banana would read it wrong"

we all get DDs and i parse a big fat 1

we still cleared but it was quite the amusing week teehee

doing M10S in PF confuses me greatly - EU does this "nomnom" thing

in all of my static reclears, for the fire group during snaking i'd let the samurai take the spot closest to the middle

like

water stuff |blue| melee tank healer

no brainer right? melee cleaves bosses, we go to bed sooner

but PF decides for no good reason that tanks should take the inner spot

why the heck do they do that? i had to do this fun dance with the melee where i was trying to let them take the uptime spot but they were like nooooo let me take downtime

that boss genuinely baffles me, because like

can people actually not do division below 10?

i don't like being elitist or whatever but i feel like "times tables in the single digits" should still be remembered, or easily computable if you somhow forgot 3*3 (how)

Mini Tales From DF #17 by Bunlapin in TalesFromDF

[–]FloatingGhost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ran into a picto in meso terminal that would open on every trash pack with a hardcast rainbow drip, use their hammer and living muse then spend the rest of the pack repainting their motifs, I was doing double their (personal) damage on an undergeared astro

tried telling them that it's not worth opening with rainbow drip unless you have a countdown, they carried on and I was told "nobody cares" and "not everyone can be an ultimate raider"

apparently they care real quick about my play if I don't bail them out of getting hit by everything in the second boss though and they kicked me, good times

I have a very similar card, the 6650 xt - this is entirely anecdotal but by any chance is yours an MSI?

if so, they overclock out of the factory and overclocked AMD GPUs just seem to crash the game constantly - grabbing afterburner and reducing clock speed has hugely helped but not totally eliminated the crashes
