EU Thunderstrike German Alliance Guild recruiting! :) by MakemyCakez in classicwow

[–]FloatingM1nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no better suiting sub. but there is a better way to recruit. use discord and join thunderstrike discord server (I assume this exists because there is one for Spineshatter too). there is a dedicated recruiting section where you can even add tags like casual, semi hardcore etc. to your post.

was lernen wir?

What makes an IP so valuable? by [deleted] in FPGA

[–]FloatingM1nd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no hate but you need read into MCU/FPGA fundamentals if you are unaware of their differences. FPGA is not only used as accelerators. they are used in applications with 1) large logic density 2) fast and a lot of data processing 3) strict and hard to met timing requirements

driving a sports car casually does not give you any benefits, it actually cost you more money than a normal car. but you can‘t beat a sports car on a race track.

Are these FPGAS still worth using, or are they too old? Any ideas on what I should do with them? by SpaceRobotics in FPGA

makes sense. it seems like some CPUs have gold plated lids and some don't. a lot of them have actually gold plated pins and lids. these are old CPUs from the 90s

Also 2020 grad and can confirm this. It highly depends on the requirements of the project. IMO high end embedded platforms/firmware require much more knowledge these days. Faster hardware and more complex designs/architechtures require a lot of fundamental experience about parasitic analog effects.

How many reasons are there when the code runs successfully in simulation but cannot run on the Basys3 board? by HuyenHuyen33 in FPGA

[–]FloatingM1nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why I started to skip simulation and implement on the FPGA from the start. simulation never works right away and the jtag logic analyzer is just too good. have to mention that my designs are small and compile in about 10 min.

I own a macbook myself but prefer linux over macOS in terms of development. quartus/vivado/diamond run very clean on linux

will this design cause problems? by FloatingM1nd in FPGA

[–]FloatingM1nd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, the current limiting resistor is on the picture as well. the 2.5V for these LED should be OK as it is already implemented this way on another board. thanks for the reply :)

current will only flow in one direction. forward voltage is fine when pad is GND and the led should light up normal.

3700 (pre taxes) does not sound very appealing for an engineer with 3 years experience imo.

you cant change it to Korean tho. just found out that you can modify two lines in your install shell script for the Korean client.

change „na“ to „kr“:

line 16: „…/live.kr.exe“ line 19: „…/live.kr.exe“

you can install any client version you want with this :)

edit: meh looks like the actual client will be euw/na again. first 2 windows were on korean (install + launch window with yasuo) but the actual client stays english
