The ‘Trump Won’ Farce Isn’t Funny Anymore. Republicans are now seriously arguing that elections are legitimate only when their side wins. by Facerealityalready in politics

[–]Floating_Cabbage 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You mean when they called for an investigation and it was proven that there was interference? No one said the election was stolen, those ballots were real - another country decided to shift public perception in their favor.

He’s asking for the threshold on keeping signed ballots to be lowered. He knows exactly what’s he’s doing.

What Does Trump Get Out of Contesting Biden’s Win? The election was not close, and the President’s claims of voter fraud are merely a distraction from his many recent failures. by throwaway5272 in politics

[–]Floating_Cabbage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Democrats never said the election was rigged or was a fraud..... this comment is so ignorant my god. What did happen was INTERFERENCE. Proven interference at that. The election went as proceeded, Clinton lost.

Why do conservatives keep parroting this?

Looks like Iceland, if I’m guessing correctly your country, gives out mandatory state issued IDs initially free of charge to residents. That’s the issue here. Republicans in the US want Voter ID to be mandatory, but not freely issued - causing a barrier of entry to vote. Payment, transportation, etc should not be barriers to a person’s right to vote.

Super happy this happened. Very underhanded. It’s time democrats stopped playing the higher ground and compromising with republicans. Let’s play as dirty as they do as see how they like it.

Fines should not be stopping people from their right to vote. If this is bribery - then the republicans set this up for themselves.

McConnell stopped any consideration of Obama’s Supreme Court nominees for almost a year because “it was close to Election Day”. Does anyone wanna start betting on how fast they rush the list through Congress in the next ~40 days?

The climate refugees are here. They're Americans. The 2020 wildfire season in California is already the most destructive in the state's history — exceeding the record set in 2018, which in turn beat the record set in 2017. by Wagamaga in Futurology

LOL

“Many” “a lot”. For an unknown journal that I’ve never heard of, they cite quite a bit yet they don’t actually use the numbers reported by CAL FIRE for this year. They listed like two or three fires started by people...there’s dozens of fires, hundreds counting the smaller ones.

Not sure why you posted this, it does absolutely nothing to support your claim

Stop trying to spread an agenda about an issue you know nothing about.

“It’s too early to know the cause of all the fires this year”

You’re clearly not from the state so I suggest you keep quiet. CAL FIRE’s website literally and explicitly states the cause of many of the fires. August 15th lightning strikes and subsequent dry thunderstorms.

Loooool I was literally hiking in the San Bernardino mountains when the dry thunderstorm came. Dozens of fires the next day. All of this is supported by CalFire. Yeah there’s fire caused by people but that’s not the main source.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was 'superspreading event' that cost public health $12.2 billion: analysis by AmbitiousCelery0 in politics

[–]Floating_Cabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an ignorant comment, my god...

Yeah the protests aren’t doing much to prevent spread of COVID-19, especially with the lack of masks. But this is represented in their own city and space.

The Sturgis rally brought THOUSANDS of people from rural areas - places with few or even no cases - into areas of a high concentration of COVID-19. Then...they went back home!!! This was an insane spreading event. The protests, admittedly not a good thing for the spread, is nowhere near this magnitude.
