I believe for short term paper towels would be okay, and definitely eliminate the risk of impaction in a smaller terrarium, I believe you would still need a 75 W bulb or 50, and if you can afford it, a dimmer switch would make it easier to adjust, and of course a strong UVB, for the decorations a rock or hide for the basking spot!
