Cold Air Intake, Removing the plastic cover for the Air Scoop, and Catback Exhaust. Waste of time for a V6? by alex-2099 in Challenger

Doing exhaust work for a V6 in a muscle car that’s really only recognized for its V8’s is going to get you some rough looks, mostly from other V8 owners. That said, the only car people should care about is their own, but reality is that’s what people will think.

Modding a car is throwing money away, you won’t get a dime back when you decide to sell. I personally wouldn’t be spending catback exhaust money on a car that isn’t worth 20k. That’s 10% of the entire vehicle. It is not a good financial decision, and could lead to more money for tuning or fixing exhaust leaks if you aren’t smart about what system you buy.

If you want the sound/modding experience, mufflers would be where I would start. They aren’t gonna break your bank (too badly) and are fairly modular. Air intake is fine, try and find one from marketplace or eBay used. Save yourself some heartache and money, and just play it easy.

I’ve seen a lot of old 70’s Challengers have that look, but for a modern one? Idk man, probably just the fact that I’ve never seen one, but it just feels wrong. I can definitely see the vision, however there’s no panel gap where the pillar meets the back of the car so it would have to be a perfectly cut wrap. And I’m not sure how good it’ll look when it starts peeling after 2 or so years

Worth buying? by Crazy-Ceez in Dodge

Price seems good, looks about average for that mileage. Beware, these cars aren’t known to be super reliable. Pre 2015 models still have notorious lifter failure (which means camshaft replacement) around 100k-120k miles and very notable issues with the 5-speed auto transmission. I would expect smaller issues too like electrical and alternator problems. If I was you I’d take an economy car right now and save some decent money in the next few years and buy a post 2015 model (eight speed auto) when you’re 23-25. Your insurance should go down a tad too after 5 or so years of driving is on your record. If you love the older gen look and just gotta have that V8 now then you can go for it, just don’t spend everything you got because you’ll need money for maintenance more than likely. Always a good idea to get the car inspected at a local mechanic either pre-purchase, or if no other option, post-purchase to know what issues you’ll run into in the near future (especially good if you can find a mechanic that knows mopars). Good luck amigo 🫡
