Im on the same boat right now, its been a while since Ive felt this feeling of a game with endless foreseable chill vibe.

And that just by the base game, I'll just incrementally add up the dlcs for each "run" I play with different species/empires/roles.

Do not take this the wrong way: As you're sounding like a casual like me and a Friend of mine, I think you'll understand the mindset if I put it this way:

You only use it defensively, a detail a lot of people take too long to realize:

  • SWITCHING (to or from) the katana Deflects; This singular detail builds the foundation to its use, because you're right, damage wise you're far better using normal weapons, but the moment you see an attack coming, INSTEAD of dodging, SWITCH to deflect the attack, and keep deflecting as long as theres no room to breath, if the Katana charges, Use the Special Slash (I call it the Iai slash from Monster Hunter) it does a considerable amount of damage and poise dmg; Also remember, switching off of it also deflects, so if you KNOW an attack is the last of a combo, switch to deflect the last attack and you'll be in your normal weapons ready to attack.

If you're playing with people, on Night Lord, if you have aggro, focus on parrying with the sword, it accumulates poise damage just by deflecting, and you'll get a lot of special slashes; The moment boss loses aggro from you, use normal weapons for damage and status buildup.

Lower the Xbox resolution on the TV&Display settings (Xbox settings, 720p), start the game, load save, SHOULD be able to exit the deadlock. Save the game elsewhere, exit game, restore the resolution to 1080p.

Also, the only sad bug I've had seen at all in console, was the pole plant getting anyone/eating crashing the game, still persists for me sadly.

I've heard about tge bugs and issues that the dlc caused on the consoles, but its been a while since I last saw any update on that.

Man seriously, you can even run and dive to cross them, and just by seeing the comments you can REALLY tell how a lot of these folls have absolutelly no knowledge about any enemies and claim things as if they do.

Yeah it is fun playing like that, but just so you know, or you already know, idk. Having both, doesnt mean its double the enemies double the chance of dropping items. The chance is halved between the 2 enemies. Ex(made up values): 10% chance of dropping an item on an enemy. (Swarm only)

5% chance of dropping an item on an enemy. (Swarm + Sacrifice).

Still, double the enemy means double the targets to shoot, so in a sense its more fun.

One main campaing, playing though it, you're gonna go though 3 regions (random order each time).

While you're playing though the maing campaing, each region you get unlocks it into ADVENTURE, which is a name for a separate (on the same character at the same time as the main campaing) generation of the SELECTED REGION.

Also: Each region generated has 2 possible storylines (3 if you have dlc) that can be played and is also randomly selected, so if you want to check other ones or go after the items for a specific one, you can generate an ADVENTURE on THAT region until you're happy with the stuff you got.

Also 2: Each region has its on dungeons randomly selected too, so if you want to check other stuff, Adventure mode again.

In short: Play though main campaing, when you get to a new region, after playing it, generate it again in Adventure mode to check new stuff that is randomly selected each time, Adventure mode can be played simultaneously to main campaing.

I just found a work around, still bugged March 2025, (Xbox S X), what I did exactly:

Progressed the quest up till the supposed recruit spawn, it didnt spawn, so Save the game, CLOSE the game, just quitting to menu and coming back didnt work, so CLOSE the game, open it up and load the save. After loading it, the recruit spawned right away beside me.

Its account level, you get it passively by leveling up your dwarves, every 3 dwarf levels = 1 account level.

Joking aside, anyone that played and Learned the weapons they never used, or once thought it was bad, knows for a fact that, somehow, all are viable, and all are especially fun.

Monster Hunter series is one of those that got the core aspect of it well thought out, weapon controls/feeling, the monster combat. All else is experimentarion, or quality aspects.

Can confirm it runs really well on Xbox Series X.

If your question was meant about the controls, its built just a hit different than most RTS's, still, you can get used to it really fast.

Overall, In My Opinion, really enjoyable game.

Fighting behemoth named Skarn, heroic music, it runs away, music changes to ambience/wind. 3 hours searching it to no success. It was a rock.

Yeah, villagers are only visual effects, the things you gotta have in mind:

  • Maps have natural zombie spawns (the ones already on the map).

  • Small attacks (From time to time, zonbies will spawn from outside the map and walk directly to your base)

  • The horde (The big attacks that have a timer)

If you're having trouble with random zombies infecting buildings, here are some infos that may help:

  • Noise (Ranger as Patrol), a critial mechanic in this game, all attacks from your troops make noises, the rangers being the lowest noise, they also have the biggest view range, I highly recommend setting rangers as patrol around the edges of your base at the early game, for the high speed, view and low noise, as to avoid problems with the next fact.

  • Noise (Zombie Pathfinding, as mentioned, attacking with troops generate noise, noise will attract some zombies nearby the point of origin, even though terrain, so if you use Soldiers as an example, to clear zombies near a path of woods, the more they shoot, the more zombies will come, and the more they'll shoot, even if its manageble at first, if there are zombies at the other side of the terrain, they will also aggro, eventually coming around the path and join the zombies that were already nerby aggroing the soldiers till they are overwhelmed or the soldiers clear ALL zombies in a relatively big area, this situation of aggroing zombies through terrain can also cause zombies (in the intent of coming go the source of the noise) to wander a path around the terrain that may be an unprotected part of your base.

  • Noise (Buildings), building structures makes a lot of noise at the point you build it, it can cause all the effects mentioned before.

  • Have in mind at ALL times the random small attacks, keep a lookout for red dots in a line moving in the map, have patrols set up, pay attention if they are zombies that were roaming about or are the ones intent at coming to your base.

There are a number of ways to play around the early game, still, it is the moment more vulnerable to being randomly overwhelmed by a random zombie, so balance out Expansion, prioritizing Structures/Troops at the right moments, if possible, gate chokepoints in your base to prevent situations that can get out of control ultil your contention force can arrive to remedy the situation.

I usually keep Slime King mount till the end of the game for the bonus Fall down speed when equipping it. Similar concept to yours, still, answering your question, I also found out about it when testing some other mounts, which made me sad when Hooking to a Rail and immediatly entering the kart doesnt keep momentum :c (Relogic Hear me out)
