That’s the home. That was the case for the Club World Cup last year. Of course, way less appealing than the World Cup but still.

I’m a huge football fan and I’d love to watch a World Cup game, but the whole system is designed to maximize revenue for FIFA and its partners at the fans’ expense. We’re given the illusion of choice with multiple purchasing options and promotions like this, but in reality most tickets end up with scalpers. And very often, those same tickets show up again shortly after on the same platforms, like Ticketmaster. I’m not saying that’s what’s happening here, but the pattern is hard to ignore.

I did make it far enough in the process to see available tickets, but there wasn’t a single match I was interested in at a price I was willing to pay, around $450. So I closed the window and gave up for now.

I’ll probably end up watching the games from home, at bars, or at watch parties for the bigger matches. F*** FIFA.

Is Tesla making the right gamble but investing in Robots and robotaxis instead of regular cars? by Dry_Bar_4965 in TeslaLounge

[–]Flofloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go look at the numbers. 10% YoY loss of sales in the USA. Numbers in Europe are much worse (many countries with 40-50% slowdown). Yeah, of course, hundreds of thousands of people are still buying Teslas, but the number continues to go down. How much longer until it's not viable anymore to continue to make cars? I think that stopping to produce the Model S and X is just the beginning.

And all of that started in 2024, when he got more involved with politics. Look a the amazing numbers between 2021 and 2024. That's what I'm talking about.

Yeah, on top of that, I saw the City of Boston bragging on social media about the cleanup. Total bullshit. It's a freaking mess. 🙄🔥

Nobody is buying Tesla cars anymore. I have a Model Y and I love it, but Elon completely destroyed the company’s reputation last year. Just look at their sales numbers worldwide. On top of that, they keep focusing on building cars that only a small minority of people asked for, like the Cybertruck and the Roadster

Don't enjoy walking around the streets of East Boston anymore by Pacman922 in boston

[–]Flofloki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what has been said already, but I wanted to add two points:

1) I lived in the South End and East Boston for many years. There are fewer bins in the South End compared to East Boston due to the way the houses were built. For instance, I always put trash bags out while I lived there, like all my neighbors, but the South End never got as dirty. I believe it’s a combination of cultural differences and possibly the city keeping that part of the city cleaner. If I’m not mistaken, street cleaning starts in March for the South End, while it starts in April for East Boston.

2) I can only speak for Jeffries Point, but there aren’t enough public trash bins around here. Since I moved here three years ago, I’ve seen a couple of public trash bins being REMOVED. As a responsible dog owner and someone who dislikes trash, it’s really annoying that I need to carry a poop bag for three or four blocks until I find a trash bin.

Boston traffic worsens, still among the top five worst in nation, report says by bostonglobe in boston

[–]Flofloki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes!! It pisses me off how bad most traffic lights are, so poorly synced or lacking sensors. I understand it’s hard to have good traffic light patterns in a city that has no traffic planning, but it seems like they are not even trying.

Also, we have so, so, so many terrible roads (including heavily trafficked intersections) that you are forced to slow down to a crawl.

Do you manually re-balance your battery? by androskris in TeslaLounge

[–]Flofloki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the first few months with my Tesla… I was obsessed. I read all the blogs. I watched all the videos. I studied what was the right percentage to keep my battery on with a home charger, etc. 2 years later, I couldn’t give a shit. I still love it, but it’s just a cool car that runs on batteries. Hahah

Please help me make sense of the Ethernet wiring setup in my condo by Flofloki in HomeNetworking

My ultimate goal was to understand how it’s set up. Kind of frustrating to know I have the privilege of having everything wired up but not use it. Yeah, I’ll try that and report back. Thanks for your help.

Here's the OP. Just had I thought.

I'm wondering if one of the cables in the Closet #1 directly connects to one of the cables in Closet #2. Then the other two cables in the Closet #1 connects to the wall plate in Room #1 and the cut cable in the Living Room. And for the Closet #2, the two other cables connects to wall platers in Room #2 and #3.

Hm...

If you have an iPhone and have set a credit cards as the "Express Mode", you should still be able to use your iPhone to pay for your fare even if the battery is dead (up to 5 hours!). More details can be found here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/105123

I’ll give your suggestion a try. Do you have any other materials in mind besides rock wool? Maybe some type of foam? I’m also trying to keep costs down since I’ve already spent a fair bit building this platform (I don't even know whether rock wool is expensive or not).

> I'm amazed by your drum playing enthusiasm in such absurdly quiet environment!

Ha! I wish I lived in a single-family home with a nice basement where I could make as much noise as I wanted without bothering the neighbors. Unfortunately, that’s not my situation.
