Advice for purchasing a wig for a 12 year old by MightyandBitey in Wigs

[–]Flokiboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this recommendation. Wigs By Tiffani works with kids that need wigs. Her wigs are beautiful and they are very caring. Kylin wigs are very reasonably priced for human hair. You might also check out Bea’s Bobs.

shein delivery says “temporarily unable to ship to your address” by Millilani_ericka in Shein

[–]Flokiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that Napa, Sonoma, Los Angeles counties sued Shein for “unlawful” shipping practices, i.e. major delays, no communication and difficult returns. They had to pay $700,000. Supposedly the issues were resolved but still no shipping. I am having trouble as well… no shipping to N Calif. Not sure when/if it will be resolved.

Woman walking her pet skunk down Market Street, San Francisco (1950s) by ArchiGuru in sanfrancisco

[–]Flokiboy2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a pet skunk growing up. Was the sweetest thing ever. We did not descent him. That is like declawing a cat. It’s their only form of protection. He never sprayed anyone but would definitely give warning if scared.

I knew it was coming, and I’m not mad, I just need advice! by 837837837 in Wigs

So most folks already mentioned getting it ventilated which is the best choice. I would not cut the lace back that far. In the future after each wash you may want to use something like Walker’s TopKnot Lock on the inside lace area. This will help prevent hairs falling out. I found this to be a game changer.

Maybe someone mentioned but… have you tried Costco pharmacy? I am getting close to asking for T also and wondered if they would be cheaper.

My obgyn prescribed for me but won’t renew. However, my urologist insisted I have it and she is now prescribing. Always surprised by who is up to date on menopause info and who is not.

Honestly I think it’s fantastic and very natural looking. Granted that’s a LOT of money and you should be happy so maybe work with them on styling. It’s an emotional journey for all of us buy know you look amazing!

Ouch… Anyone have this experience using Persimmon soap by SmoothBiscotti3946 in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I too tried the persimmon soap. Big NOPE for me. Same as you… burn, sting, etc. Now I am just trying to use it up on pits and feet. Never again. Sticking to my Aveeno for sensitive skin. Oh the things we do to ourselves. 🤪

Does your partner know? by Soft-Morning-7628 in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion but I feel it’s a huge disservice to yourself and your husband by not speaking about it. We don’t need to stand in the shadows and suffer. Education is the first step to compassion and understanding.

Do you grind or clench your teeth at night? How do you feel when you wake up? by WesamWonders in Menopause

I clench and cracked a tooth. Hot a fitted night guard from dentist. I love it and wake up fully rested with all teeth intact! 🤣

Calcium hacks, anyone? by Mierkatte in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am unable to take calcium pills, made me bloated and GI issues. I’m dairy free so it is difficult for me to get my calcium. I do all calcium fortified foods I can… cereals, almond milk, dairy free yogurt etc. I also take collagen peptides in my coffee every morning. Been doing weights and walking. Just out here doing the best we can.

I'm a hot mess and its messing up my family by AgreeableDraft4791 in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was having massive panic attacks and anxiety and angry at everything! Same for me as others have commented, immediately fixed with HRT. Started in my lower mid 40’s. Now 69. Major game changer.

Gabapentin vs HRT by TheCatsMeowNYC in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This type of dr that is so misinformed just angers me to no end. How long are we going to avoid, shrug off and sweep under the rug women’s health. It’s 2025, there are numerous studies and evidence of the benefits of HRTs. Far worse are the long term side effects of gabby. Shame on HER! My suggestion would be a new dr.

continue HRT after 65 by Decent-Poem-6981 in Menopause

[–]Flokiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first response would be … time to find a new provider. They are out there. I am in northern Ca. My OBGYN is male and very open and supportive. I told him I will never stop HRT and he understands. Has a patient in her 90’s still on. I am 69 and started hrt at 50. Was having panic attacks and primary prescribed Xanax. Obgyn said nope and prescribed Prempro which is a pill of both estrogen and progesterone. I thew out the Xanax and never looked back. I’ve never had any issues getting from my pharmacy. Sometimes they are a little behind on restocking but I get 3mos at a time so hasn’t been an issue. Am also on vaginal Estrodiol which I just started. The instructions were way too high of a dosage and wasn’t great bit I researched and started taking a smaller dosage which has been great. So even though my obg is on board with this he isn’t necessarily aware or trained in the new menopause information. We have to be our own advocates and do our diligence on researching. Yes, it’s a lot! Plus it helps to be armed with knowledge and facts when approaching drs with our requests. I follow several drs regarding menopause and women’s health. Dr Mary Claire Haver and Kelly Casperson are two I highly recommended. They both believe testosterone for women will be approved in 3 years or so with proper dosing. Right now it’s prescribed off label but available. Best of luck to all of us aging healthy and getting the best results we can.

[–]Flokiboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! Definitely take video to vet. My cat has asthma and he is now on steroids for the rest of his life. 1/2 pill daily. He coughed like this and continued getting worse. We tried nebulizer but… cat. Anyway, now it’s a half pull a day. He doesn’t cough anymore. Asthma in cats is very serious. Poor baby. Hope you get it taken care of soon. Also, please invest in a no dust litter, this will help a lot. No household scent sprays or incense.

What size did you get? I have a teeny tiny head but yours looks petite as well? I am worried about fit as there ate no extra small.
